When a newbie question is posted on the General Board, I tend to tear into the writer, letting them know just how ignorant I perceive them to be. I figure they should have at least enough sense to know where their question belongs.

In this forum, however, there is an admission that they’re new and so some patient hand-holding seems appropriate. I don’t usually suggest that they do a find a message search for the same reasons you outline. They won’t read it, and the question has already been posed. Besides, it gives me a chance to summarize, as you noticed in my recent reply about tipping, using the accumulative knowledge from the previous discussions. This makes me appear to be very knowledgeable, wise and well-spoken. And no one ever catches on. (until you come along and bust me

but i do mutter when i see the same questions within 3 posts of eachother... its just plain silly.
i know when i first got here, i spent hours reading back and back and back... but then, i'm a smart girl and i hate to look like an idiot

some of the new questions are really good... bringing it back home that yes, we were All newbies at one time...
and we will be as patient as we are able.
you cant hear me muttering nimrod... but Possibly the thought that a smart, beautiful, talented lady IS will slow down the rapid fire and encourage some of these newbies to actually Read the Boards...
