Why do some posts have red time stamps and some are ordinary black?  Just curious.

be nice when answering questions here.

Remember the saying, "Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime." It's kind of the same with searching. Give him an answer and he'll have that one answer. Teach him to search and he'll have all answers (or at least 'most' :))

Searching for answers here will usually give you an answer much quicker than typing a post and waiting for a reply.

When this newbie board first came out back in 2002, admin and moderaters would constantly remind people to search first  before asking. (example below)

While many of us on this board helpfully answer questions even when they are asked repeatedly, it is never a bad idea to teach someone to search.
:)

The time stamp on new posts is bold black, after 24 hrs it turns red then a lighter black so you can pick out the newer posts in a thread.

Ah gotcha.  Nope, not a complete noob here, but every now and then I find something I don't know.  As for searching, didn't think to search the words time stamp.
