Newbie wants to avoid STDs

I just visited a provider for the first time ever yesterday.  She does incalls only, and has 10 pages of reviews.  I felt comfortable enough to visit her.  The experience was AMAZING.  I wanna do it again....but I am afraid of STDs.  I mean, she must have done it 1000 times, and she did BBBJ on me.  She says she gets tested by the AIM every 60 days.  I am so scared that I might have contracted something.  Am I being paranoid?

Well, you ARE being paranoid, but it's also good to keep things in the back of your mind. I think in general providers are more interested in monitering their health than others who might be promiscuous in the general populace, so in that regard you should feel safer... Also, HIV contraction is the biggie to worry about, of course, and is also thankfully pretty darn rare in normal penile/vaginal with protection intercourse. I believe the statistics reflect that there is more risk of infection for ER docs/nurses than those in the sex industry. Also, men are much much less likely to contract from a woman than vice versa. RECEIVING BBBJ from a woman is really a non issue. Of course there's an infintessimal chance, but you're more likely to be struck by lightning, I am almost certain. Questions you can ask a provider that would place her in a higher risk group would be if she ever sees clients without protection (I don't know any that do but I've heard of it) and if she does Greek. Greek obviously is more dangerous because of the nature of mechanisms involved. Also ask her if in fact she is tested regularly. More protection available for you should u prefer: dental dams for DATY. I've never had anyone use one with me so I have no experience with them, but I know they are out there. There are 2 STDs that you have to think in the back of your mind that you can contract even WITH condom use: Human Papilloma (sp?) Virus and Herpes (oral or genital). I don't know a number for HPV transmition rates with condoms, but I do know it's the #1 STD in America; it can also be resolved by the body on its own, however in many cases. As far as herpes, of course condoms are going to provide a good degree of protection, and that plus not seeing active lesions on someone should nearly ensure your safety, but there can be asymptomatic shedding of the virus, and there is no guarantee. That said, 25% of the population or more is known to have genital herpes, and 75% of those affected are NOT aware they have the virus.

Basically, the way I look at it... Life is a gamble, whatever you do. The biggest risk we take each day is getting behind the wheel of an automobile. Every time you board a plane, cross a street, etc, you could die. Eating fatty foods increases your risk for heart disease. Smoking and sedentary lifestyles will kill you. Life is risk. You alone can weigh risk and benefit. Personally, my belief is if you can't have some fun, why be alive... I also believe in fate, but I know not everyone does. That said, be protected and good luck deciding what is true to yourself.

well, you have reason to be paraniod.  but hey, you should have reason to be paraniod even if you're with a non provider you don't know.  the only advice i can give you is avoid anything that can give you std's like DATY and such and use protection

There are facts and figures you can link to if you go to the National Discussion Board and do a search (in the lower left corner of your screen) - lots of discussion on the matter and many websites to link to with hard info.
I don't want nycballer to steer you completely off Daty if you love it because that's a relatively low risk event as well.
Keep choosing ladies who are well reviewed and have been around awhile...they are more apt to be taking care of themselves and wanting you to be healthy as well.

give up the BBBJ.  I have not hesitated to ask providers to cover 'me' when this starts and I have NEVER gotten a bad reaction...(I also tell them I am paranoid about diseases and want to relax).  Of course BBBJ's are great, but the anxiety afterwards, however small the chances of getting something, is too much.

I am amazed at how everyone minimizes the chances of getting somethign through BBJ'S or uncovered DATY.  Besides herpes, HPV(genital warts) chlamadia and gonorrhea  are transmitted orally NOT just vaginally or anally.

Covering up for all activities is your best bet!

Agreed, I never had a lady get upset for requesting protection.
If it makes you feel comfortable just ask.

Yes you are being paranoid(to an extent). Yes your provider probably has done it over a 1,000 times. My ATF has been in the biz for 10+ YEARS how many times ya think she has done it?
If you want to be 100% safe from STDs then don't have sex with anyone. If you wish to engage in the hobby then understand it is a calculated risk. The more precautions you take such as CBJ or no DATY / DATO will of course better your odds at not contracting something. These practices will also diminish your level of pleasure, fun and satisfaction with your partners. Your level of safety from STDs is directly related to how much you wish to get out of the hobby.

You can contract a STD from any of those activitites. All those listed by Avalon Rose are possibilities.  Also, Syphillis is on the rise, particularly in the over 60 crowd.  If she is being honest with you she would know about common STD's GC or Chylamidia.  Papilloma viris is very common and very contagious.
Wear a condom and use antibiotic ointment on your genitals before intercourse.
