Hi i am new to this hobby and i am wondering about the protocol when calling a provider some providers seem to ask for an address which is a little scary to me. Do i have any thing to be scared about?

Search the Newbie forum for messages - do one search for 'reference' and another for 'screen'.  You should find plenty of info on the topic.

And please read the post two threads down by Newbie Mod.

All a provider usually requests (for her safety and peace of mind) is either a reference from a well known provider or your general work number. You should be comfortable giving out this information, or expect not to see her. I have never been asked to provide an address (although I suppose once the lady has a work number, an address is not that difficult to obtain)
