I've been told I'm supposed to check references before I connect with a date for the evening. The few guys I've asked have said they don't have references b/c it's their first time (it would have been mine too--but I haven't taken the plunge, b/c I'm at a total loss.) Re: references, does that mean I'm supposed to ask for the phone numbers of other providers the guy has seen to call to see if a guy is ok? I feel skeptical, why would would another provider talk to me--a total stranger--wouldn't I be her competition, in a way? Or wouldn't she be afraid I was LE? Or is there trust among providers? Are there other ways to make sure your hobbyist is nice and friendly and not a nut case? Do you have to have a website, basically, to get started? If so, how do you get started with one?
... given the legal situation of the hobby, it is not uncommon for experienced ladies to ask for references from clients (name, phone number, high-level details of visit, etc). It helps to prove the client is not LE, but as you point out, this system is not perfect, it is probably a good idea.
As for needing a website, while not required, I know some ladies who survive on newspaper advertisments, the web is where the real action is. Place an ad on Eros, CityVibe, and I expect that your traffic will increase, along with you credability. As a client, I can only say where I will last be looking for a lady, on Craig's List or Last Page. Take it for what is worth.
There has been alot of discussion about this on the twin cities board. Many of the ladies talk to each other about clients.(Called back channeling) They're more concerned with safety then competition.
And what a dream you would be, taking my first plunge with a provider on her first....
I have one reference- but according to the provider she can’t verify my ref is a provider. What is weird is this provider has about 6 or 7 reviews on TER- the same phone number as well- just not same city. I don't know what the criteria is to check it- but it has my interest peaked. I sent her an email with the info- so who knows if she will respond. I really don't want to blow money on just anyone so I can get a reference.
Sorry didn't mean to hijack thread- but I have the same problem as a hobbyist.
I hope this helps some. As providers we know guys like variety. So we don't look at it as competition we look at it more as a sisterhood. I and many other ladies on this board are happy to supply references for the gentleman we see. I ask that they contact the lady first and ask if it is ok. That way she knows I am real and it is at the gentleman's request. I don't give out an information without a gentleman's knowledge. keeps us all safe. If you like feel free to pm me or email me. Be Safe Dawn
You do not need a website to get started. Go onto a site like EROS and examine some of the services that are listed there such as photographers, private email and the like. You are better off taking out ads on a good escort mall when getting started. If you renew the ad you will have a website location by default. You need to verify hobbyists before you see them, to do otherwise is foolish. The best way to get started is to go to get a VIP membership then go to your regional board and ask members to PM you with suggestions on verification methods in your region. Throw out the silly replies while checking out the information provided by intelligent gents that respond to your query. You will get the information that you need and may pick up a few clients.
If the client doesn't have references, then get a general work number so that you can verify he is employed at Company X. Another way is to utilize RS2000 or Date-Check. In today's society, you have to take steps to BE SAFE.
If I new your city, I'd volunteer to be your first client.
I'm really worried that you're getting in over your head. It seems like you don't have nearly enough info to go about this little endeavor safely. I'd suggest that you talk with a well known provider in your area and get some guidance. Many will help; many will put you to work under their wing (sometimes for a cut). There is also the agency route, although there are pros & cons to that.
The bottom line is that if you don't know about marketing or screening, you could find yourself with no business, arrested, or the victim of physical harm. Please take this as helpful criticism, and good luck.
That's good advice and I appreciate it (all the advice has been great and I'm looking at all the links)To be honest, I can't say business sense is my strong point, and there are SO many aspects to consider, I confess I feel pretty overwhelmed. Do you really think a provider would help me get started? That would make me feel a lot more confident, I'm sure.
