You are just a member. You can be a basic member, or you can pay to be a VIP member, but there is no difference between a hobbyist and a provider member. If you write reviews, then you are established as a hobbyist. If you receive reviews and link them to your username, then you are established as a provider.

If you already have reviews here (you can search by your provider name, phone number, or email address) then you can contact admin and ask them to link your review profile to your username. This will also give you free limited provider VIP, which allows you to use the PM system and read your own reviews. If you don't have reviews then you have to wait until you get your first review to have a profile here. The first reviewer sets the profile.

You can also establish yourself by posting and participating on your regional discussion board and/or the general boards. You can post ads on your regional ad board and post pictures if your regional board has theme days.

I recommend you read the self help center. (you can find it at the top of the page by the life preserver) The ad posting guidelines are there, but also read the entire SHC, because there is a lot of good info there. Also read back a bunch of pages in this newbie board.
