Not dumb. You have to be on the main or "home page" of the Newbie board. Try the "Back to Forum" button (at the bottom) or re-select the "FAQ for newbies" on the TER General Boards drop-down list. Then you should see the White Life Preserver with 4 Red stripes and "Questions?" in bold face.

go to the "search reviews" page under the "review" section. You will find a group of filters there. Enter information that matches yours such as your email address or phone number and hit the search button. If you have a review, a page will come up listing your profile in which your review will appear. Keep in mind that you will not be able to read the review unless you either buy VIP membership, or get limited VIP privileges. The Self Help Manual will explain how that works.
You can post an ad just like posting any message to a board only it must be on an Ad Board and must meet certain guidelines which are explained again in the Self Help Manual. Among the more important rules are that an ad can only be posted once every 7 days, and then only for those boards that cover areas where you will be. Further, you may link to your website, but that website must have an interactive TER logo.
Not sure what regional board you posted to. But something else that I don't recall seeing being mentioned is that you are allowed to post a daily photo on the Photo Only board. It will give you additional exposure.
