Never mind, figured LE out.

It's early, I am a little slow out of the gates.

Commonly, the ladies ask for one to call from an unblocked number.  About the last thing I want to do is give out my home number.  What do people do?  Will a pay phone work?

a disposable cel is even better.  Some will ask for work #s for screening purposes. You may have to give that # out.

The provider is trying to discern whether you are LE or the Hillside Strangler before they invite you into bed. As important as your anonymity and lack of a paper trail is to you,  so too is her concerns for her enterprise and safety.

Thanks for the feedback, and I understand the providers concerns.  It sounds like a disposable cell phone may be the way to go.  What does LE stand for?

Under NO circumstances should you EVER, EVER (did I stress this enough) give out your home number or address. A cell phone (remember to dial *82 to unblock) or a work phone our the best methods. If the provider can see your number, they feel much more secure in seeing you.

Once they know your name, they can find out a lot, no?

What is the principal objection to using home tel number?  I presume it is security -- might result in a tapped phone?  My cel doesn't work in my house because of electronic interference, so I sometimes use the home tel.  I NEVER use my work tel.  Seems much more risky.

I think I follow you Hardy, and thanks.  I would perfer to keep my name out of it, but if I use my cell phone, they can see my name, right, with caller id?  Also, once they have your name, if they are unkindly inclined, they can probably find you and cause trouble, or am I just being too paranoid?

If a provider had a buddy in the CIA she could prolly' find out your ATM pin # by your stool sample alone.

Just remember that anonymity and accountability are relevant.

An unknown, non-reviewed provider having nothing more at stake than her contrived name on her 9am Craigslist post is quite the opposite.

I've never seen a cell phone that matches a name to a number, unless that number has been entered as a contact.

I've had voice caller ID before, I could see the number, but the voice always said "a wireless caller"!

Given their fluidity, cell numbers are rarely recorded by name, and if you control the number, you can choose to keep it private.

Are you too paranoid?  Possibly!!!  You seem to be making many excuses.  I you aren't ready, or if the hobby isn't for you, no problem.

Wish you well!!!

As a provider I always post: No Pay phones No Blocked numbers. Simple reason. Too many want a be pimps out there. They come in and rip you off.You now don't have a number to tract them. My regular clients are given a nick name to use so they can call from any phone they like. If it's resricted I still don't answer. They just have to leave a message. Not saying everyone out there wants to harm or cheat a lady just because they call from a blocked number. But, just think of the ladies worries. If you tell her not to call you on that number thay won't. If your worried about the wife issue! Just go to radio shack and get a go phone. 50 bucks and your in bussiness. No bill to the house, no problem getting a call back. Turn it off and leave it in the trunk till next time. Tarah The southern lady

I dont answer blocked numbers, cause I do have a wierdo that calls alot that I dont want to see..and he bloacks his number..but there are also other reasons I wont answer blocked numbers...Plus my clients have to give me their numbers or it is going to  a no go....And really I dont ask fo rthe home phone, but a cell number..you have to have a cell number if you are going to see providers.....
