I'm a newly independent provider, with some experience with an agency I didn't like at all. However, the agency did provide screening for new clients, which is something I'm trying to get a handle on. I've established a P411 account but have also been receiving emails from TER users who have read my reviews. My question is for both providers and Hobbiests. Providers - if you are independent, what is your basic screening process/requirements? Providers and hobbiests - I have had two requests from hobbiests that do have TER handles but the reviews they've posted are several years old for one and a couple of years old for the other. Should I pursue further screening for these members, something more up-to date? And hobbiests, is it at all offensive for a provider to ask for background information for screening purposes? I really don't want to insult anyone or make them uncomfortable, but I do need to look out for my safety. Two potential clients have responses negatively to my request for references, one saying that he had ever had a "blind date" before, so of course he doesn't have references. I didn't mean to be offensive, honest! It's such an icky part of the experience, but necessary.

A large number of providers do not like to publicly divulge their screening methods, but might help you out privately.  You might contact some of the veteran ladies in your area, privately and ask for suggestions.

Asking guys for too much background information will not be happily received.  Many guys have too much to lose by passing out their personal information to too many people.  That's why we use the verification sites.  Guys that have not seen providers yet will not have any references unless they belong to one or more of the verification sites.

es, your security and safety should be paramount. Never, ever compromise it for the sake of accepting an appointment. It is not worth the risk. You have to screen every potential client until you are satisfied.

The methods that ladies use vary greatly. Some will just rely on a hobbyists TER credentials (# of reviews, white list referrals). Some ladies will accept employment verification. Some ladies require 2 references. Some ladies will use verification sites. As Swim mentioned, PM a few ladies in your area and see if they will discuss their screening methods.

As far as the negative response you received from these two potential clients, that is their problem, not yours. You are perfectly within your right to ask for a reference or two. Any potential client that is offended by you asking for a reference is NOT someone you would want to see. They should not have been offended by your request. If they didn't have references, there are other ways for them to have been screened (verification sites, employment info, etc.).  Now, I am not sure what "background information" you asked them to provide in lieu of references. Beyond verifying their place of employment, no one is going to provide you with personal information. So be careful what you ask them to provide.  

Also, you were correct not to accept an appointment from a client based on his reviews written years ago. If you are going to screen based on TER credentials, the hobbyists should have recent reviews, several white list referrals, and some board presence (i.e. posting/commentary).
 
Again, only you can determine your comfort level and whether you have screened enough. Never let your guard down and accept an appointment if you are not 100% sure in the quality of the gentleman you are about to see.

I can tell you I have one of two things I will accept as screening, but I am not going to offer an exact play by play of what I do, because newbies might just try to get around that...cops as well. I would be happy to email you later today, and give you some tips, but you're using an alias so we don't even know if you are in fact a provider.  

The one thing I will say, is fk them if they are offended by what you ask for. Delete and block. You don't owe anyone a reason for doing what you do, period. Let him find someone stupid enough to risk going to jail or being killed.

to work with a guy in screening, I offer a multitude of ways, and if they cant do ANY of those, then there is definitely something wrong!  

I had the weirdest email 2x and each one was written almost the same. Wanted a outcall on such and such night, and both were at the SAME hotel. Bur 2 different emails, names etc...

I email back for screening, he claims to have references, never sends... says "oh well I come here often, I will email them and get pre approved blah blah " and then nothing.... both times!!!!
