As an independent business woman, a provider can run their business anyway they please.  If RS2000 or any of the other screening services are requirment to see them, so be it. If you're to cheap to join, just move on!

several local providers state on their website  'must be rs2k approved'..others say rs2k,p411 are accepted..why the must? will they not see you if you are not on rs2k? sounds like it..do they get a kickback from rs2k to increase new sign-ups? verification is all important to a provider..but to make something mandatory instead of voluntary would seem to me to hurt any new business for them by denying new clients who are not familiar with rs2k or just dont want to spend the 50 dollars to sign up..

,and never used it once. I don't remember paying $50 dollars, but I must have.

Please bear in mind that most of us get many, many, many more inquiries than we actually book and see.

The more demand a provider has, the more stringent her screening process can be. She can afford to turn away the business that doesn't meet her requirements.

And there are all kinds of requirements besides certain site memberships. Some ladies require employment verification. Some require deposits.

For me, personally, I won't see anyone who emails or texts and seems completely illiterate. If you don't know that "I" needs to capitalized, I don't want to spend time with you (I'm really not kidding - unless you are from out of the country and are an oil tycoon staying at a five star hotel - with references!). I want to spend time with the educated, intelligent business man. I won't see anyone who says, "What's up?" in their first contact. I once turned down an outcall because I Googled the guy's street address and the street view showed his house and it was just ugly. I had no desire to go there. And he had references.

Is this "hurting my business"? No, because it is business I don't want. Many of our requirements are filtering techniques.

Room service is very big in some cities and not so big in others. If it is required by her, then she is filtering out guys who don't hobby often enough to want to be a member or who don't want to pay the fee. She is just filtering out business she doesn't want because she gets plenty that meet her requirements.

In my area, rs2k is of little impact.  DC and P411 are much more popular.  I have seen it posted that rs2k is more popular in the midwest.  Like the others told you, if you don't want to join it, move on.  There are plenty of providers out there.
