provider rather than positive feedback. It wasn't fair to her since she neither volunteered nor acquiesced.
The national boards get about ten to twenty ads per week from new providers. They never see the light of day because 99% of the posters are moderated so the ads just get killed in the queue. The ones that slip by are usually pulled immediately because my inbox fills at warp speed with PM's from other providers letting me know.
When an ad is disapproved, there really is no way to completely explain everything that was wrong with it (case in point - there were five reasons for the experiment ad to have been denied) as most of the new providers don't have VIP. So, the provider is left to flounder around a little while trying to get her ad up. Every provider on TER has had to go through this in some way or another, so I was hoping to see if I could change that a little.
So I thought it might be a good idea to try to have a pretty non-compliant ad put up as an example so that some positive feedback could be given and that other new providers could benefit as well.
It didn't really work this time for various reasons, but I'll try again later with another approach.
I realize this would put a burden on you, but could you email the guideline to them?
Just a thougtht, hate to leave people hanging in the wind, no idea what they did wrong. Providers are the reason guys come here, so TER should want to help them out.
One or two wise assed remarks were to be expected, but for the entire tone of the responses to be so negative was a surprise to me.
I might be an opinionated asshole (ok scratch the "might be"), but even I rarely attack newbies no matter how inane their questions might be. This board is supposed to give newbies a sense of security and belonging(so I can destroy them on the GD and P&R boards. lol)
In all seriousness, I think the poster deserved better than what she got here.
advice. One of the problems may have been that the responders did not read my post as to why the ad post was there. Unfortunately, the system does not allow me to place another post where I'd like to, which is why I can't move a post to an active thread instead of pulling it.
I'll figure out another way, and hopefully not catch some people in such rotten moods.
That when an ad post gets rejected the poster be referred to the posting guidelines thread on TER. It is quite well written and pretty easy to figure out. If a lady can't figure out how to properly proceed after reading the guidelines then she may not be ready to be a member here. It's not rocket science after all but a reasonable level of reading comprehension and common sense should be a basic requirement for anyone trying to run their own business.
Perhaps some sort of modified access to the ladies only board would be in order. There is certainly a lot of good advice to be had from the men on TER but any sort or real mentoring for a lady trying to find her way on TER or as a provider in general is much more likely to come from other ladies.
