I should know this, as I have written over 100 reviews, but I don't and this seems like the right place to ask.

I am guessing that the answer is no, since no one ever does.

But I just wrote two reviews and in both cases, it would have been perfect to say something like "this provider is like x, only better at BBBJ and taller."  Or "the experience with this provider is like being with a Spanish version of x.

The reason you don't see it often is not because it is against the rules, but because it is probably not a good idea to make comparisons like that.

you are right ps...just keep the review of the gal you have seen not of others...give them their own review

Any external reference like that is not guaranteed to exist when someone reads your review in a month, 6 months or more. Profiles (and reviews) get removed for various reasons.

If you were writing a magazine article, it would be bad practice to write "see page 37 in this issue for comparison." Once material goes internet, page numbers and so on are meaningless. (You would include a complete reference or quote: "ttcttc, in a post to TER on 2/21/2016, asked, "Can you mention other providers in a review of a provider?" That is the issue I address herein.")

There is also the YMMV factor. Your experience with A and B went one way. Someone else might have had a different experience with B and draw a completely different conclusion about A.

A review, IMO, should be a stand alone work that requires minimal cross referencing or checking ... the obvious exceptions being to that Provider's own websites, ads, and reviews.

... a  review that said "if you like x, you will really like y" would be informative in a way that general descriptions and checking characteristics cant quite convey.  Anyway, I appreciate the perspectives. I dont think I will start adding comparisons, for the reasons that are mentioned.

A comparison can be much more informative than a review without a comparison. I know in pm's, guys compare all the time and say exactly that i.e. "since you liked escort X, you'll love escort Y."

I don't see a big downside in doing so, but open to change my mind with someone who poses a convincing counter argument. I just haven't seen one yet in this thread.

There is nothing in the review guidelines barring mention  of other providers in a review of provider y in a review of provider y.  If the review is not of double session, just don't go overboard about the second provider.  Just make a brief mention of her involvement.  If the review is of a double session, you need to include the names of both providers in the name box, so the profile of their double sessions has it's own identity.

that there is a good chance both gals will get pissed off at you for doing so.

And yes, they would be being illogical, but what's your point

OP: I do understand why you want to write it that way, but I think you should avoid it if you can, or at least rely on it very little. Here's why, other than what MrFisher has already pointed out. Let's say I'm reading your review of a lady named Suzy. If all you say about what Suzy looks like is "hey you guys know Jane over on 52nd street? Well Suzy looks just like Jane only a bit taller and darker complexion."  If I met Jane last week, great! If I don't know Jane, now I'm pissed off about your lazy review. I don't know exactly how you planned to implement the comparison based reviewing, and I'm sure you write good, informative reviews but just please don't write a review that has to be decoded by cross referencing other reviews. I know it sounds great to say if you like X then you'll love Y, but everyone who showed up looking for info on Y but never heard of X is out in the cold.

Just my two cents, though it's probably not worth that much.  Have a great day everybody.

Whoa whoa bro

Wasn't looking to step on any toes, but you're right. Everyone, Impposter is right, it was his original thought and I'm sure it looks like I was trying to steal it. That's what I get for skimming the boards.

Thanks for keeping me honest.

and many others are always ignoring my work.

I discovered a Higgs Boson in an immovable pile of clutter in the garage 10 years before those other guys found one at LHC and I got: NOTHING.

I discovered graphene while practicing writing the alphabet when I was in the first grade (long before those other guys did their work) and I got: NOTHING.

I've been studying Hooker Economics for many years, publishing preliminary results on TER, but what did the Nobel guys give me? NOTHING.

Once in a while, I get a little sensitive.

LMAO, Impposter.
I think I know how you feel! Careful on that last one though, that's actually partly mine. I've been saying black holes were the key to gravitational waves since I spent a night in the Grand Canyon back in the '90s.

These providers get pissed if you name or  compare them in any way shape or form AND then there are the ones who get mad because you didn't name them. I would do it if you value your saniety.
