We're not a priority. LE goes after the low hanging fruit. And don't forget, stay away from donut shops.

wish i knew more about LE for real. most of the stuff that gets posted seems to be, at best, second or third hand. seems as though, if they wanted to, they could pull people in like crazy. recent and real experiences?

of their actual presence around our activities. I think especially on the newbie board, because you read so much about LE concerns, the tendency is to believe they're everywhere. Sort of like how all the crime stories on the 11 o'clock news make some people feel disproportionately threatened by street crime. In reality, although busts do happen, and it's important to play safe, the sex trade as way way way too vast for the limited resources of LE to ever put more than a tiny dent in it.

Much of this will depend on the area. I recently moved from Jacksonville,Florida to near Toronto. The difference is night and day. Here in Ontario I've been told that prostitution is legal, but soliciting isn't. The authorities here seem more concerned about the government being screwed out of tax money owed, disease spread, human trafficking, i.e., the real crimes associated with p4p. In Jacksonville, which is in the deep south Bible Belt, the city fathers would rather have cops bust escort services, titty bars for adult entertainment violation and porn shops, than actually bust real criminals, so if you enjoy any kind of erotic adult entertainment in Jacksonville, Florida, watch your ass!
If you read the boards on sites that discuss street prostitution and massage parlors you will see a lot more talk about LE activity since that is where they concentrate most of their time.
Since this site deals primarily with escorts who work discretely and, hopefully, screen their clients, LE concerns are minimized. Not eliminated of course, but less prevalent since LE doesn't have the means or the manpower to set up stings on every woman who runs an ad on eros.
Your best bet(this only works if you stay local) study how your local dept. works and think like they do, just try not to get parianoid in the process. Are you their bigest concern ? NO! if they see you doing something stupid, will they pile on the charges ? YES!
A) Check the girl;'s reviews here first. If she has more than 10, you're probably okay, at least, I have not had an issue.
B) In 2002 Wisconsin Jerries busted the girl, told me to go home and get a cheaper date (ie get a girlfriend, dude.) Of course, they ran my license to make sure I didnt have any warrants out for me first. It was my experience, I am not saying to expect it, or even to worry about it.
C) If we posted police methodologies, what makes you think they would keep using them? You have to figure they have at least one person who has the responsibility of reading forums like these, if not more than one person. News would spread through the department and actions would be taken to change proceedure.

My thoughts.
I worked in the TV news biz for 30 years. Media and technology are constantly causing law enforcement agencies to change their methods. I can see this eventually challenging the enforcability of prostitution laws, costing agencies much more money than the busts they make are worth, eventually leading to a change in the laws. It's already happened in some places like Ontario, where prostitution is legal, but solicitation isn't.
