Two years and two months ago, I accidently fell into this.  I was mentored.  I was LUCKY to have met one of the wonderful top ladies in this service.  One night at a party, I met a beautiful drop dead gorgeous charming woman.  We became great friends.  It was at a very bad time in life.  I was hanging out with her one day and she asked me to help her with her work.  She told me what she did and showed me "the light".  ;)   I was mentored by her.   I am grateful to her and all the wonderful gentleman, I have met along the way, that have given me wise advice.  This business has been life changing.  In a very positive way!  I have a real job, that gives me flexibility, which allows me to do this also.  This is an enhancement in life.  The only regret I have, is that I didn't learn this business sooner. :)

I guess, my point is I was mentored therefore, my only real questions on the board, are technical.  I  assume that I'm not the only one that was mentored into this, also.

I would say the risks for a lady wanting to become a provider are 100X greater than a guy wanting to become a hobbyist. But then why is this board full of nervous guys posting about how to become a hobbyist, but no ladies post such questions? I am just baffled by the roie reversals. Aren't men supposed to be the daring and courageous ones? In fairness, I admit I was one of those scared newbies. Only after a year of hobbying do I realize how foolish and unnecessary my paranoia was.

I suppose one way of looking at it is there are far more many hobbyists than providers...

Sometimes they will PM me rather than asking in public, but they do ask.  Think it's prob easier for them to get started, they don't need references, they just need to advertise, post a good rate, and give good service.  Word will get around.  It's the review thing and websites where they seem to run into problems.

and I am new...I feel like i have been attackin the thread lol!
But as far as being paranoid and scared..trust me I am. That is why I am trying to get established here so I can have a bit more sense of security.

I feel like I am overly cautious sometimes. If a guy words his email a certain way, or seems pushy on the phone then I cut him off. Could just be a horney guy looking for some tail...but I cant afford to take that risk.

I usually do incall so everytime I am waiting for an appointment my heart races and I am sooo nervous....but then I open the door...he walks in...and usualy lays a nice kiss on me. Well if thats the LE well are they alloud to do that? lol  Then its like I kick into gear...forgetting everything else and focusing on the target so to say. :)

Idk im a little fish in a bigggg pond...I just hope I can keep wise..and survive :D

You have to ask questions to learn stuff, so keep on askin'.  None of us can be too cautious in this enterprise of ours.  Always go with your gut feeling.  If something just doesn't feel right, get out of it.

RE what can LE do, just about anything they need to so they can make a bust.  They generally do not have the money or manpower to go after a single provider just to get a misdemeanor bust.  They want volume when they are going after providers.  They will either use a female cop to pose as a provider to lure multiple guys in, or a male to call providers and set up lots of dates.  It does seem that they are mostly going after ladies (and I use that term loosely) who primarily work the streets, not those who hole up in a hotel room, out of the spotlight, so to speak.

Newbie questions about screening and references are okay from the customer side, but from the provider side, that kind of secret stuff isn't supposed to fall into the wrong hands so to speak. It's confined to PMs, provider-only boards and mentoring, etc.

Many new providers do ask questions here, but they tend to be about quickly answered techie problems getting ads approved, pics posted, etc.

And then there's the fact that the internet has always been predominantly male and that P4P involves many customers for each provider in order to be viable.

Many providers like to keep their screening methods to themselves.  Like ROP said, that subject is probably best asked on the provider-only board or in PM's between providers.

My "relationships" have been purely referral based for the past few years. Never advertised, posted etc. Why now you ask?
My social environment has changed since relocating from a more "populated" area, and I love what I do!
The internet speeds things up a lot in terms of finding new clients etc. BUT the risk is far greater that ever for me.
TER is another option for me to help with screening if I need it, but my clients are NOT the vocal hobbyists up for giving reviews on what they consider to be a private "affair" - so I am considered a newbie!
The more I read here, the more I feel anxious as to whether I should be here at all.

Just my off the cuff comment worth 2 cents...

seek advice from.  Most veteran ladies will help a newbie.  Not the same for guys.

In Europe, I always found myself in the company of intelligent, accomplished gentlemen who opened my eyes and mind to the world of erotica in the most beautiful ways from a young age. From these men, I learned what the "perfect affair" is for men of all different ages and cultures.

Europeans have no sexual hang-ups and are open-minded to up-scale, "attention to detail"mistresses and courtesans being part of the norm of success.

I am always grateful of this unique education and insight.

I wasnt mentored, but I spent quite a well reading every bit of information I could get my hand on from both a hobbyist perspective and from established escorts. I've been in and out of this world for 2 years and I'd say just within the last 6 months I've become more established and more comfortable as I gained the knowledge I needed from watching post on message boards. I tried to be mentored, but no one I ran into before had the same vision for me as I did myself so I learned on my own. The amount of resources available to a new indy girl are astounding. Meet and greets are a good place to observe and learn as well.
