Can anyone give me the lowdown on these, or point me towards a thread that has a good summary?  LA seems to have them somewhat frequently.

Angelique--I saw your post on the other board) is talking about a "meet and greet" that would consist of a provider and a client meeting up somewhere public, as part of screening prior to a date. I believe the op (Juanvcoffee) is referring to the meet and greet parties or socials, which consist of many hobbyists and providers getting together socially. There are several of those in different cities. They are usually a luncheon, or dinner or cocktail party. You have to be screened to attend. (or be personally invited by the host/hostess. there is actually a "meet and greet" board, under the general board heading, (about ten spots below where you found this one) where the information on upcoming events usually are found. They are sometimes discussed on the regional boards too. They are normally just social events where providers and hobbyists can meet each other. You can introduce your self and talk to people and get to know them. you can use the information to set up dates later, but dates do not normally occur during the m&g.

Beatpoet  puts on the  "lunch social" event, which is a smaller group of people held at a restaurant. It's a limited number of hobbyists and providers. The luncheon is held somewhat frequently.  Bond holds the big Meet and Greet. It's like a cocktail party (no pun intended) You will need to be screened to attend either event.  Bond's M&G  is usually twice a year, there's one coming up in March that was just announced. It's usually held in a club, bar or restuarant and usually Bond makes arrangements with the venue to take over the entire space.  There is NO sex  during either event. Or at least there shouldn't be. It's a way for a hobbyist to meet providers up close and personal and only have to pay the door fee.
