I've been reading all the FAQs, etc and I must be missing something. I want to register as a provider so I can upload photos and get my phone number out there so I can start working.
Can someone talk me through this or tell me what I'm missing?I don't think you can register as a provider -- you probably need at least one review and then you can have that profile associated with you account. You cannot upload any files here so you photos will need to be hosted elsewhere. Some external ad site or personal site is also required for getting a review approved.
Like I suggested, move your question to the Newbie board and I suspect you will find a few providers that will give you a helping hand. Or just click the Contact Us option for TER and they will help you out.
Ok, this is going to make things difficult because how do I get a review if can't advertise that I'm available. Also what happens if the person that writes a review doesn't like me? Does that mean I'll never be allowed to advertise?
Lastly, I just made a site and I'm going to try and link it to this discussion and I hope that's an ok thing to do.
Don't worry about seeming like you might have come off less than a tech geek. You didn't; you seemed like many that just want to get started but no A - Z how to do this is really available.
Yes, the review bit is the hitch. Having added your link was the smart move. I don't know where you are but you might consider posting on your regional board -- assuming it get any traffic.
Well, even if it's a bad review you can still follow PS's advice on the newbie board for getting that associated with your TER account. You can also post pic to the Pictures only board with the link to your site. You're certainly pricing for traffic -- unless there is something really unusual about your face -- so I would guess if you make any effort to do a good job and keep your customer happy (within the rules you defined -- non-violent etc.) you should start seeing something happen. I don't think it happens really fast and that is something you probably want to talk with other providers about.

Basic membership is genderless. You don't register as a Provider or a Client. That becomes more obvious from your posts. There is more to know about getting reviews, posting Ads, Photo Only, etc., but that discussion is more for the Newbie board.

After posting, I often like to check the forum to check my post for major errors. When I re-loaded GD and that thread, it said Jensen's post went up "11 minutes" ago and mine went up "2 minutes" ago and that's how I remembered the 9 minute difference. I don't remember checking Annie's post for how long it had been up (12 minutes? or 4 hours?).

You could have said she might be anywhere from a TER 5 and "10" which would lead someone to actually believe you have no idea about her looks instead of topping out her speculated looks at an 8 which is really kind of a slam on a girl that you admittedly have no idea about.
This is why so many women have left this board, we have a brand new provider here looking for help and guidance, doing EVERYTHING in her power to be accepted, not break any rules and do the right thing here, she does NOT deserve left handed digs at her looks. If she ever becomes "cunty" I'll be the first to set her straight, but this girl is a model for the RIGHT way to try to break into the market here and she deserves all the help she can get. Even from a so called misogynist like me. I don't know Annie, I doubt her and I will ever meet, but she is the type of girl we are trying to attract to these boards so lets do our best not to chase her away.
that you are the official authority on scoring for looks here. How about next time you say "she is somewhere between a TER 5 and 8, IMO?" That's a whole lot less presumptuous, not to mention pompous. We may disagree with your opinion, but it should be stated that way. Looks are ALWAYS a matter of unique perspective and reflect the personal tastes of each monger. That's why you can't declare as a matter of FACT that she is any particular score, without qualifying it as your own opinion. I agree that you can't tell "anything" based on her pics, so do you see the contradiction in then announcing a score? Carry on.
