It is not just Houston, but other cities as well. I have heard the following reasons why particular ladies don't see black men:
no attraction to black men and thus it would make for a non-enjoyable experienceblack men smell different than white men
black men will try to haggle
the precipitation that a good amount of black men are thugs and/or immature (thank you mtv and bet)
they date black men outside of the hobby
other hobbyist will not see them if they know they see black men
some providers are just straight up racists Other times you will have providers that will see black men under certain conditions:
If you are above a certain age
Only if they are doing doubles with another provider Honestly it is what it is, just be upfront with who you are with them and if they don't want to see you move on. Once you are able to see a provider post a review, as having reviews out there will help with screening for future appointments
I am a newbie and the one thing I found to be difficult is to find African American friendly providers in the Houston area. Are there in suggestions on overcoming this difficulty? Also is there particular reason that this such a difficult task?
why you are having problems, but I am a white guy and I sure had trouble getting dates when I got back into the "hobby" after a couple of years away.
Are you a member of any other verification site like P411?
I had my old reviews, but they were deemed worthless. It was harder getting back than it was when I started back in 2006.
I am also not sure why some providers don't want to see AA men, but there are a lot that do not discriminate as well.
Good luck and keep trying!
I've read posts from a few providers who say they don't see African American men. It doesn't sound like a racial thing. It sounds like their experience was that African American men in general are a bit more rough with intercourse than other guys. They get sore.
A couple made references to size, but I don't know if they were joking or not. I've never read anything conclusive as to size of AA men versus others.
One provider who comes to mind immediately won't see guys with an erection longer than 6" (or is it 6.5"). I thought that was odd.
African American? Race is not really a difficulty to over come so I was wondering if you were assuming that is why they are declining you. Are they actually telling you they don't see black men or just not responding to you? I think it would be pretty unusual for them to say that unless they specifically say no black men in their ad in which case to send them a request. I think being a newbie with no references would be more of an issue than race. I did a quick check on p411 and found 25 newbie friendly providers in Huston and read a few of the profiles and none say anything about a race preference. I know it seems like there are a lot of providers that seem to prefer older Caucasian men (neither of which is me and yes I get a lot of no responses) but there should be plenty that don't have a problem with race. I bet if you are a VIP member on TER you will even get some messages from providers in your area saying they are ok with race just from this post but if not I would recommend posting a question and being a little more specific on how you are searching to the regional board or post an ISO (in search of) request. When I have done this I usually I found I was doing something wrong and some providers even sent a PM either recommending specific providers or offering to see me.
Sorry for my little humor but this has been discussed before and it is a touchy subject. I see that on BP ads often but are you having that issue with the top 100 ladies in your area? If you are mostly seeking on BP try looking at the ad board on here.
a good deal of providers do. Jackasses and bad clients come in many sizes, shapes and colors, and to reject a whole group of people based on race seems silly to me. If some providers have had extensive bad experiences that they feel have correlated with race, I guess I understand that they wish to reject the ethnicity they deem problematic from the get-go. From what I've seen, though, providers who make it known that they don't want to see black men work in areas such as the south that racism is heavily, heavily institutionalized and normalized- and I do think that much of their trepidation stems from personal prejudice. I'm sorry that you're dealing with this. I will say that the more references that you gather, the easier it will be to book reputable providers, regardless of your race. I travel to Houston infrequently- maybe once a year- and would be happy to see you while I'm in town if you're into my look and have good refs.
...racism is everywhere. It's wrong. What is it we often say here about stereotypes? I see your comment as stereotyping and wrong as usual.
I am orginally from the south but have lived in MN for many years. I will see any true gentleman regardless of race as long as they are verified. I have seen hundreds of ads of all races (and yes AA women as well) here in MN that say no black men or AA men. It's not where in the country you are looking but from which pool of ads that makes the difference!!
You just verified my point bri. There is racism everywhere, not just in the south
You are right as well as generalizations that show ignorance
By the why bri I have lived in Birmingham, Alabama all 41 years of my life. Birmingham is the main headquarters for racism. I know first hand how disgusting it is.
That's great ... But none the less it is everywhere ... Maybe you should move and see for yourself. I know it's in the south but until you experience other places you can't say it's mostly there
So sad this has become an argument over where racism is worse ... It is EVERYWHERE !!!

I'm now in AL, but came from the midwest, from one of the most segregated racist cities in the country. I see less racism here than I did in the north.
So you'll always be welcome back here in New England.
