I am a newbie and tried to set up an appointment with a sp for next week while I am in town.  I gave her my details and my work info for reference (I am new so no sp reference).  She got back to me and said she wants to see me but she can't confirm yet because she is waiting for someone else to confirm that time as well.  Is this normal practice?  I am trying to book ahead and she is my first choice. My concern is if she is busy then I want to book my second choice as early as possible. Thanks everyone.

If you can give her some other times then maybe she can accomodate you.  Apparently someone else had first dibs on that time.

Otherwise, yes, cancel this appointment and move on to others.

I find that booking as far in advance giving the lady two or three times is always.  usually, unless there's a conflict, you get the first time you state.  It's just something about giving the lady options.  Happy hunting.

As an out of town newbie, you are low priority.  If she has a regular, who has yet to confirm the time vs. a newbie from out of town, who do you think she will choose???

Asking for a specific time a good thing!!!  I've learned the hard way that contacts like, I will be in town form Fri to Tues, my schedule is open, hoping to see you!!!, doesn't work.  Give her a few specific options of time, that will decrease the chances of possible conflicts.

All is not bad, she is honest!!!  There are gals who will schedule an appointment with a new guy, only not to show up if something better comes up.  (GALS, I am only saying that this happens, and you know it does, this is not a criticism of quality providers!!!)

Your first choice could have said something other then that to you, or be a bit more tactful in doing so.
Move on, i'm sure there are hundreds of gorgeous women here to suit what your looking for!
