Most places I have called require a home phone number for the "pre-approval process."  However, I only have a cel phone.  (Not uncommon in Manhattan.)  Any suggestions for alternatives to fulfill the approval process?

In the San Francisco Bay area we often ask for a reference from another escort.  The next step, if you can't provide that would be a work phone number (general switchboard number, plus your real name).

Yes,offer to bring ID first of all,if you have seen other providers give their names,bring a business card,and or a paystu they don't need to see what you make just   the company,and your name.The best  really is if you have seen other providers and they can verify you.Also if you have a work ID card.Hope this helps.Love,GrayeyedNicole  xxoxoxo

I still don't get how someone is supposed to get into the hobby if they don't wish to divulge their current workplace - home phone is no problem but having corporate ID and company name with contact information at said company is too much in my opinion. Guess that's why I can't get started. Any ideas?

Ps... sorry for posting no response but only a question in this threat but it seemed relevant.

quality ladies.  YOU DON'T!!!!  I don't!!

You can go to MP's and make up any old name like, say;
Bill Kile
123 Milky Way
Cramitville USA

The bottomline the Newbie needs to remember is this;

Respect each ladies desires to conduct herself business in the manner SHE DEEMS FIT. If there is something she asks for you don't wanna give out. DON"T CALL HER #. If there is someone you just gotta see and she wants to know every last detail about your life, decide BEFORE you dial whether you want to cough it up or not, not WHILE she's on the line.

You want people to respect your privacy?

Respect theirs.

It's just the groovy way to hobby, make love, not enemies.

I just wanted to say I disagree with the guy who says that divulging his work info is too much to give,
Trust me, us girls get too many messages and see a number of people, so when you give us the info we verify it and move on, I for one certainly would never do anything to damage a client with that info.  If that is all it takes for us to feel safe, the rewards are great for you, and just know we use it for two seconds then dispose of it.  It really gives us piece of mind that we will walk back out of the hotel we are walking into...
Thanks
hope this helps him to feel more comfortable.. And I usually never ask for a home phone number that to me is invasivem so I stick with the work number thinking he is safer giving me that instead of what his phone number is.

I would never ask for a home phone number unless it's the last option that I have.  I mean, there are tons of things to ask for.  I almost always ask someone for their work information and most of the time I remember it without having to write it down.  If I do have to write it down, it's get written on one piece of paper and that piece of paper goes with the client when they leave, given that the session went well.  As far as verifying the work info, the most that I've ever done with that is call the work number and ask if ____ works there.  Most of the time, I just use yellow pages search engines on the Internet to verify employment.

I have some real misgivings about providing some of the information requested by providers,especially those who have a formal client information form that must be submitted through their website. This is information submitted over an insecure connection. Despite the "assurances" that this information will be kept confidential there simply is no guarantee that such assurances will be honored. Furthermore the provider ask for such information but fails to respond in kind. I don't know her real name. I don't know where she works assuming this is a sideline and she has employment elsewhere. I don't know where she lives or her home phone number necessarily. Some providers may work out of their home or apartment but I suspect that such
"residences" may be rentals or leases for the purposes of entertaining clients rather than a primary residence.
So I feel as if there is a disconnect here on the issue of discretion and privacy. The provider wants such discretion and privacy but often wants the client to compromise his privacy based on mere "assurances" that such information will not be disclosed. I far prefer to keep the information provided to a
bare minimum. Does anyone remember Heidi Fleiss and her "little black book" ???
