I used the tips on the Newbie board to do my first outcall appointment last night.  Before last night, I was doing exclusively incalls.

She only does outcalls so I didn't have a choice if I wanted to see her.  

I had her get the room at a hotel of my choice and then reimbursed her in cash for the room.

Some advantages of outcall:
1. abundance of clean towels and sheets
2. less suspicion from hotel staff - only one visitor
3. less likely it's an LE sting (for the hobbyist), because LE likes to play on their own turf.
4. I get to pick a hotel I like
5. "home field advantage" - less nervous because the hotel and neighborhood is very familiar

Some disadvantages of outcall:
1. higher cost - for a decent 3.5/4 star hotel in the Boston area is $150-200.
2. she may get lost and not find the hotel to be on time.
3. In the event she's not willing to get the room for you, you will have to put up your credit card and you will then leave an electronic and paper trail.

My situation is different since I do most my playing while traveling so I already have a room so no additional expence and the paper trail is less an issue.

I prefer outcall for some of the reasons you've mentioned.  Other pros:
--I'm less likely to get lost
--I avoid the potential of a lingering smokey room (if she's a smoker)
--I stay places where there are nice restaurants around and I prefer dinner dates

What if the guy doesn't show up? She's out the money unless the hotel has a very lenient cancellation policy.

On the flipside, what if you booked the room and she doesn't show up? You're out the cash unless you have a backup. Last minute provider cancellations have been common in my experience. Something to consider.

I prefer in calls for the most part. The ladies seem to be more comfortable. Also, since I know I'm not going to cancel I won't be out the $$ sitting in a hotel room waiting on a no show.

I will pony up the $$ for a nice hotel room to see a well known lady who is in town on a tour. This is always cheaper than flying to her city for a couple of hours of fun.

I guess there are pros and cons for both in or out. It all comes down to your preference and or personal life's situation.

BTW, how was the date? Hope it worked out well for you.

Although generally, I somehow tend to book non-smoking providers.

You know, I got that idea from this very Newbie board.  This is the first time I did outcall and I thought I'd give it a shot and just ask for the sale on my terms and see what happened.

She mentioned the possibility of me cancelling when we spoke on the phone, but we arranged it so that she would call me when she was about to book the room so that I could confirm.  The hotel was only about 15 min from my home.  

I'm whitelisted and reputable, so if I did cancel after she booked, I think she felt kinda safe that I would reimburse her.   If not, she could always make a ruckus on the regional board.  

On the flipside, if she did not agree to booking the room, and I had to book the room, I am not sure if I would have went ahead with the appointment.  Maybe, maybe not.  Luckily she booked the room and my only traces at the hotel were:
1. the smile and wink for the security camera walking in
2. DNA evidence on the wash cloths
3. disheveled "sex hair" on the security camera walking out

I'm kind of a newbie too but is it really outcall what you did? You still went to her location. What I understand is that the outcall is that she comes to you. My feeling is that you paid for her incall. So long it's not under your name it's no biggie. You had a great time and that's what's important.  I would probably agree to that scenario if that gives me more peace of mind, comfort and sense of safety. Maybe more experienced people can clarify the semantics.

I see, yeah, I'm not sure now.  I guess this scenario works perfect for a low volume provider and a guy who does not mind some extra cost for the purpose of lowering risk or increasing access.  The more I think about it the more it appeals to me. Not sure though how many providers would be willing to have this arrangement.

I believe it is really a outcall, Aa you ask the provider to travel away from her incall location.

If the lady comes to your location it is outcall,
If you go to the ladies location it is incall.  

I do mostly incalls and I use hotels exclusively, but I could be in a different city each day but it's still my incall.  

Whether you call it by the right name is not as important as picking the right Lady and enjoying your date.  Sounds as if both those went quite well.

Hope they all go as well!  

Maybe it wasn't at her "normal" incall location, but it was still incall... you just picked the location and paid for the room... the room being in her name, she can continue to use that room until check-out the next day.. just my .02
