Contacted provider who had great reviews.  Problem was she only dealt n texts.  Gave me an address with apt number.  Asked her to call me and verify but she wouldn't.  Didn't know if I was walking into Leo or a mugging. So I left.  Is this type of communication commen?

Apparently, she had made it clear, she only texted, not talked on the phone.  Many providers are just the opposite, talk but no texts.  It's always a good idea to follow the provider's rules, regardless of what you want to do.  She gave you the info you needed, so why was it necessary for her to tell you the same thing verbally?  Just because she texted you the information you needed does not mean she is LE or you're being set up.  That's what she is seemingly more comfortable with.

Like I said many providers will not text, so I would say her method of communication is not common, but it's her choice, and you have to go along with it, or find someone else.  I really don't see why texting is a problem for you.

would have gained by hearing her voice?  Personally, I'd rather get the location as a text. At my age, I wouldn't have to worry about forgetting (or mis-hearing).

I personally agree with you- no matter how many references a client has, I don't meet with ANYONE until I can talk to them for a few minutes on the phone. Subtle things like tone, affect, breathing patterns, word choice etc are INVALUABLE when it comes to judging things like character, compatibility- and to touch on a topic that was recently covered on the General Board- SOBRIETY!  What good do 10 P411 "OKs" do if the person is slurring their speach and unable to perform sexually because they are falling-down drunk?

But to each their own.

That's really for one simple reason: I just hate talking on the phone. Always have.

I never really understood that, but I guess it works for some. If she has good reviews and a lot of them, I doubt it's LE. She could have a pimp or booker though.

e-mail only until the appointed time. I then call upon arrival to get room or apartment number.
This is how the ladies wanted it.

I have seen one that was phone or text only.

If she was reviewed here and checked out then how she communicated shouldn't matter. Her preferred method of communication should have been spelled out by her up front and you follow it. If you weren't comfortable with the way she wanted it then you shouldn't have scheduled with her.

Mainly because email is easier for me to deal with. I have a civilian job, and I can have my Jenn email on my civvie phone, whereas I use a separate phone for texts/voice. The only time I hop on my phone by voice is if I'm having a hard time finding my client, or they can't find me. I only text on the day of appointments, for the same reasons. Otherwise it's email all the way.

And, btw, I don't have an assistant, scheduler, or pimp. So....that's not necessarily the reason. I will say that if someone calls me, my voicemail message says not to leave a VM, because I won't listen or call back, and to just text me or email if they need to get ahold of me.

And a provider who categorically refuses to have a two minute phone conversation, even after the client specifically requests said brief phone call! The later is what the OP found suspect.

I also think that there is the tendency by participants on these these boards to assume that everyone is "like us"- that is- that everyone is a middle-class independent provider. A large percentage of the ladies reviewed on this site DO NOT fit that profile, yet it's easy to forget about them because they are not as vocal as we are! Lol.

Just saying.

I hate talking on the phone too. I prefer to book appointments thru email so there's no miscommunication.
