I posted this also in another thread in the other cities board, but I thought it may be  better served in the newbie board.  Sorry for the double post.  

I'm new to the hobbyist world.  I'm in Pittsburgh, PA  and I'm curious as to what to expect.  I've been to a few providers and I've been happy in one or two occasions, however the others have been a disappointment.  Either I feel like I'm rushed out the door when I'm finished, even though I still have time, or I don't feel like the providers are engaging enough, and it's just down to business.  No flirting, no seduction, etc.  I suppose I could be more assertive upfront, but I figured the providers would take the lead more often.  That happened once and it was nice, however the provider wasn't what was advertised.

What kind of rates should I expect?  are there any negotiations to be had?  Any tips for the newbie?

seek out the providers who have good review history on TER. Have you been checking the reviews?  

I personally don't know any providers in the Pittsburgh area, but if you go to search page, you can search with your area code and see a good sample of the ladies in your area. Then go through each and every ladies' reviews to see what others have to say about the lady.

Another way to see who is visiting Pittsburgh area is to go to Other Cities Ad board and search the postings with the term "Pittsburgh". Then look for the reviews of visiting ladies.

Always do your homework before scheduling appointment. That can reduce chances of being disappointed.

Also, if you are not a VIP member, its  good idea to purchase at least 1 month of VIP membership.  Without VIP, you wouldn't be able to read the entire review.

Just from reading your post, my thought would be that you were not thorough enough in your research.  VIP will help out tremendously on that, without it you can't read the juicy details, which is what you need to see.  Where are you finding these rush job providers, they sound like backpage girls, which in many cases, you get what you pay for.  

Join one or more of the verification sites, DateCheck, Preferred411, or RoomService2000.  P411 lets providers indicate if they are newbie friendly on their profiles.

Rates to expect?  Well, if you look at the ads and profiles for ladies in your area, you should be able to get an idea in general.  There is no Pittsburgh region, so check the closest one, which might be Philly.  Negotiation is not something you want to try, you will more than likely be hung up on, or not hear from her again.

Last thing, read the self help center, the link is under the life preserver at the top of this page.  It will save you a lot of headaches.

Lots of research is the name of the game for hobbying satisfaction.

And that's what you should really expect going in.  Set your expectations to realize that this is a transaction about money and nothing else.

If you are looking for warmth and more of a girlfriend experience ("GFE"), then start by looking at the reviews here and find out which girls fit into that.

The value of this site is the database.  If you are not VIP, sign up for it, and you can search for providers by area code so you can figure out which ones are in your area.  You can also search for other criteria to narrow it down more.  Read as many reviews as you can.  PM the reviewers, which you can do if you are VIP.

Seems like you should be able to get some candidates out of those hits.

.....Purchasing VIP membership on TER here is highly recommended.  Also take some time and read thru a couple pages of "newbie" posts on this forum.  Read all of the guides in the Self-Help Center, which has an access link at the top of this forum page.  

Then check out a lady located not too far from you in NE Ohio.  TER ID 25380.   But be prepared to be screened.

doesn't have any reviews here on TER, then pass. Only see well-reviewed ladies who have multiple reviews (5-6 is minimum) by established reviewers, meaning guys with at least 5-6 reviews over time. You want your first year or so of P4P to be exciting without any ROB, C & D, B & S, etc.

As has previously been stated, TER VIP is a necessity to read the reviews for content as to how your date will go. Provider profiles are set by the first reviewer and can be out of date. For example, a lady does BBBJ for the first few encounters then switches to CBJ. Yes, it is a lady's choice but for many, CBJ is a deal breaker.
