Yes, I too would think that the longer a session goes the less expensive per hour is should be, but that is not always the case.

I suppose there could be two reasons:

1.  The gal is not that into math, and comes up with numbers that just seem right to her.

2.  Some gals might prefer shorter sessions for whatever reason.  Perhaps they get bored hanging around with the same guy for more than a hour.

There are even stranger permutations of rates where the 2nd and 3rd hours are more than the first, but then after that they get cheaper again.  

There's really nothing to do about it except roll your eyes and go with the flow.

Some guys have speculated on setting up two back to back session at 1 hour each for say $250/hour rather than a single two hour session for $550.  I don't know if anyone has ever gone ahead and successfully done this, however.

When looking at potential providers, I always get puzzled how they come up with their rates. Not between providers but within the same provider. I get extra cost for outcall, extra services, and so forth. I don't get the upcharge for longer sessions. For example, 1 hour is $300, 2 hour is $600 but 90 min is not $450 but $500. What is that "extra" $50 to compensate for? Just a curiosity and if anyone has an perspective, I would love to understand. For those that also see this, does to make you decide either 1 hour or 2 hour and avoid the 90 min session?

Far from an expert on anything related to p4p at this point, but my understanding is that rates are, in general, set to 'drive' clients to or away from the type/duration of appointment preferred by the provider. For instance I prefer longer appointments so my 2+hour rates reflect that. Also I don't want to do multiple appointments in a day so a 1 hour in call is priced higher than a 1 hour out call because I'm spending a lot of money for a nice hotel and would only be seeing one person. I'm guessing some providers like shorter appointments or very long appointments, for whatever reason. Now I'm sure there's some flakey math out there (that's just true in general I've found), but that's the basic strategy I believe most people use to encourage appointments that they prefer.

I totally agree with that! My own pricing structure is set up so that a 2hr is a better "deal" than just 1hr.  
  Yes, and as my personal rates reflect that I'm sure there are many others who do it this way.  
 In other words, my 2hr donation works out to slighlty less per hour than a 1hr date, but there are no further discounts for additional hours.
Why? Because, based on hard experience, I've learned that I don't want to commit to more than 2hrs with someone new.  And there are even some gentlemen I know who are perfectly fine for an hour or two but after that....  Well, you get my drift.  

We ladies simply pick the donation per specified time that is comfortable for us (based upon our own OOP costs, scheduling, vanity etc) regardless of what logic and/or mathematics would dictate.

you have no control of and probably never will. I'm not sure I understand why anyone needs to "figure out" anything here or "understand" it when it comes to why providers do what they do. This is one business that is free from all binds to any formula. The only formula we compete with is staying competitive with other like providers, that's really all. And even that is by no formula. We charge what we charge individually and independently for our own reasons. Some girls give better deals than others and some give none at all.  

Bottomline, just be comfortable with where your dollars go without the conceptualization process. Pick the woman you want, the duration you want within your budget and you should be a happy camper. If the tables were flipped, that's what I would do if I were shopping for a gent lol. I certainly wouldn't waste my brain cells trying to figure out why he's charging what he's charging. That's just silly IMO. That's like trying to figure out why the sky is blue.

Come on Man, there is no one reason why people do anything. You ask a dozen providers that fit into your area of puzzlement and you are apt to get a dozen different reasons.  

I think if you read through Debbie's and Fish's reasoning you will probably gain an understanding.  

They offer what they do, we want what they offer.  

Bring the Green, Show up Clean, Skip the Onion Bagel and enjoy.

The ladies who replied have given very reasonable answers. I saw this early on too and questioned 2 different ladies about it. The first one acknowledged it was a mistake charging more for hour 3 than hour 2 and gave me a corrected rate. She immediately fixed her ad and website and was grateful for me pointing it out. The second got kinda annoyed and chalked it up to my inexperience for even asking, acknowledged it didn't make mathematical sense, but said it is, what it is.  I still saw her and in a few weeks time, she corrected her website.  

Now, I just agree with whatever the donation is on their latest advert or webpage. No more questioning.

Actually her rate makes sense to me. She's pushing you to do either an hour or two hours. Probably gets guys that need the 90 minutes to really enjoy themselves but is pushing them to do two hours because the "sale" looks better. She pockets the extra 100 for little more then some talking.

What the OP is describing is more like 7-11 selling the 20 oz bottle of coke for 2 bucks, and the 32 oz bottle for 4 bucks
