It's chicken or the egg, but perhaps ask your clients if they will write one.

Not sure if you asked clients to do that, but you should if you haven't.

Or, if it's a question of a guy being apprehensive about seeing you, then you should ask a client if it's okay to ask another client to email/contact him.  One provider I saw that wanted to remain UTR asked me if someone could contact me, and I said fine, since it was a hobby email address.

Or you could offer something for new clients, saying, "If you are not happy with my appearance, you can leave with no obligation and no hard feelings."

I'm really not trying to complain, but the heat has me addled ;)

I've had a few clients in my brief time as a provider, and all good experiences.  Unfortunately, in order to get a good reputation in this field it seems a lady needs good reviews, and to be accepted as a "provider" in places like P411, etc, you either need several reviews by verified hobbyists or a verified provider to vouch for you.

The issue is, I'm doing my best to market myself and be available, but I had two dates cancel on me tonight.  I know that that's the nature of the beast, but I feel rather stuck.  Any local ladies have ideas?  I know that as a BBW I won't get as many "bites" as a little petite blonde cheerleader (what's up, petite blonde cheerleaders? Hope you're having a good night) and I've had one client say he'll write me a review, but what the heck am I supposed to do?

Advertise on your local ad board, and possibly offer a special in exchange for reviews to help yourself get started.

Thank you Jeff: I have VIP membership already, and do put up ads on the local board in Boston but I'll try that "special" idea.

I understand the economics I think, and I understand every  indie provider or agency owner tweaks the equation of their time, right to set their donations, the market at the time in the places where they choose to provide, but many people do run specials (and some agencies or providers have standing specials P411 or every week or to stimulate business) but I didn't want you to think I mean you should feel like you have to do a quid pro quo or from the other end that clients would have to.

But for so many reasons as you know as well as anyone reviews are crucial when you're trying to get momentum to start because so many clients don't want to risk seeing someone who isn't reviewed--and if they trust your reviewers that helps even more.

There have been several threads on here on providers getting started with reviews, and a lot of providers here could have insights and suggestions that I don't have so you might want to go back a few pages here, see the providers who are regulars posting here and PM them for ideas, or on your local general board or local ad board, talk to providers who have a healthy number of consistent reviews for ideas.

About the specials for reviews: you want to extra careful to make sure it doesn't appear you are offering a special rate for a good review. You don't want anyone to think that the review isn't an honest one because the client received a discount for writing it.

Maybe in your next ad offer a special to TER members. They would be more likely to review.

Jeff's advice about reading back and looking for information from other providers about this subject is good too.

and I didn't want a provider to feel like she was  under pressure to make concessions for reviews she was uncomfortable with, and the same for clients in the other direction. On a slightly different note,  I saw a comment on the thread below where the provider would say to the client she would be glad to give him a like or a vouch in the future and I thought that was a nice touch on her part.

The task of getting reviews for momentum from clients reminds me a little bit of the task for clients in getting started in the hobby where they have to find providers or agencies newbie friendly enough to get started, and a verification service does help in this vein.  Both of these tasks in getting hobby momentum have that chicken egg aspect that you need vouches or reviews to get started but you need to get started to get them.

so those reviews are not very credible in the eye's of most guys. We were all new once and the reviews will come. One or two guys have to step up and TOFTT, then if service is good others will follow. I got my start with reviews on another board, then realized TER was where the money was at lol.

You can offer specials for members, just don't connect the special rate to the review in your ads.  You can discuss that with the potential client in private when setting up the date.

Don't fret, Lauren. There are providers who don't want to be reviewed at all, I was just speaking to one the other day. She doesn't want the intimate details of her encounters posted on a forum.

Besides, some of the reviews posted are complete lies and fabrications, anyhow. I don't think too many people take all of the reviews seriously.
