It's a red flag. Combined with a couple other red flags and I would pass.

SOme providers are referred to as VIP escorts.  What is the difference between one who is VIP and one who is not (apart from price)?

VIP = Three letters that anybody can write for any reason they want to. That’s the difference. Don’t rely on acronyms to decide on what you want. Read past the headline.

It's a marketing term that has no generally agreed upon meaning.

"GFE" has gotten to be that way, as well.

I agree with the others that the "VIP" that the OP is asking about is not meaningful. Anyone can call themselves a VIP ("I'm a VIP!"), or an Expert ("I'm an Expert!"), or the Master of My Domain. On the other hand, most states that I know of require that someone take accredited training and pass an exam in order to obtain a State License and call themselves a Licensed Barber ("I am not a licensed barber.") or Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).

Slightly off-topic because I don't think trex has PM (which is a benefit of paid TER "VIP"):

Tyrannosaurus rex Mystery Solved: How Dinosaurs Delivered Bone-Crushing Bites
"New research addresses longstanding mystery on the anatomy of the Tyrannosaurus rex jaw.
.
Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaurs chomped through bone by keeping a joint in their lower jaw steady like an alligator, rather than flexible like a snake ... The research sheds new light on a conundrum that has perplexed paleontologists. Dinosaurs had a joint in the middle of their lower jaws, called the intramandibular joint, which is also present in modern-day reptiles. ..."

Hey imp!

Thanks for posting all the cool info!

Now you've let out my secret -- extra jaw strength enables LOOOOOOONNGG DATY sessions ;)

Yeah, I've let the Premium membership slide. I'm going to wait a while longer and see if TER gets back to some semblance of its former glory.

Claws crossed!

As others have said, it is a meaningless term. Ad sites like eros charge a basic fee for standard or visiting escort ads, depending on location, then have all kinds of premium fees added on for things like VIP upgrades.
