How does one get invited to a meet and greet??

First of all you need to find out about it.  Because of past problems, you won't find much on the M&G board, although there's a posting there you should check now.
Contact the poster and find out what kind of screening info they'll require.  It's usually, the same kind of references a provider will ask for.  If you can't provide it, no invitation.  Once you build up your credibility that should solve the problem.

If they know you are OK, they'll be sure to make sure you get invites.
