It is done and is possible, however.....

if all you really want to do is find someone to pose for you then you can hire a nude model for a good bit less than what a provider charges for an hour of her time. I don't know where you live, but around my neck of the woods an ad in the City Paper advertising $ in exchange for female nude modeling brings them out of the woodwork. The biggest problem you have then is wading through all of the applicants. It can be hard to find someone with whom you will get good results.

Look for someone with experience doing nude modelling and ask to see her portfolio or tear sheets. If you haven't photographed nudes before, tell her. She'll be able to help you by letting you know what poses, lighting, and angles make her look good. The idea is for both parties to get good results.

What I'd really like to do is hire a girl for a private photographic modelling session -- no more than this. Is this ever done? Is it possible?

Best regards,

Mur

I've been approached about it before. Why wouldn't it be done?

I don't think you're going to offend anyone by asking. I'd post a topic in your local area asking for interested ladies to contact you. That would probably work better than contacting individal girls and asking each one personally.

In the post, just give a general idea of what sort of pictures you're wanting since that will matter to a lot of possible photography subjects!

Good luck~

Thank you Denise - I appreciate your advice, and I'll do that.

To answer your question yes it has been done. A lot of providers like to have their photographs taken especially to add to their portfolio.

Some, however, like to remain discreet and not do it. I am one of those persons. I professionally model and so I wouldn't want my photos to get into the hands of somebody who knew that I was in the escort business. If that happened, then my modeling career could be hurt.

Thanks Chloe - that's a good point to keep in mind. I'm a photo school graduate, so I could certainly make the experience worth a provider's while (should they want to start or expand their portfolio), but I am very mindful of the possible pitfalls of letting a stranger photograph oneself. So I would certainly be prepared to make some sort of contractual arrangement to protect the provider and myself.
