is it my settings? I even noticed in my inbox the mail is coming in at erratic times too

The time stamp on TER is for the GMT+1 time zone, the one where Amsterdam is located.  This site is based in Netherlands, so all time stamps are for that location, rather than the local time from where you're accessing the site.  Your profile says you're based in Las Vegas or San Francisco, which are in the GMT-8 time zone.  So that's why the time stamps are off.

I do believe that the term/abbreviation UTC has replaced GMT.

As i understand it the time stamp for message board posts is Pacific time, but however I noticed that the switch to Day light Saving Time was just recently made.
I assume that is because  the servers are in either the Netherlands or Holland, and they switch to DST a few weeks after we do.

I've not paid real close attention but I think the time stamp for PM's is  either The Netherlands or Holland. (GMT+1 or UTC+1)
