Is there a site that does reference checks?

I'm a new hobbyist and I understand the providers need for references which I'm willing to do. I'm self employed so the provider can't call to verify me at my place of employment. I believe I saw somewhere that there's a website that I can pay that will do a background check and give me that all important reference. Can anyone help me with a link to that site or another idea?

Google roomservice and/or Date check If you look hard enough in your area You can find a lady that will see you with enough personal info that makes her comfortable

From what I've heard, you have to provide a great deal of personal info, and their coverage is limited.  Visiting Chicago, RS2K may be a must, but I'm not so sure how much help they provide anywhere else.

I'll give those two a shot. Maybe I can get a hobbyist that knows the provider I'm looking to see vouch for me?
Most providers I talk to want to be able to call my place of business. Thing is that I work out of my home. Nobody but me there to identify myself.

Very good to work with.  Based in Ontario, so not subject to any US laws.

Great staff, they respond very quickly to questions.  The only downside, not always known across the US, but I have found providers in many regions who will accept their credentials.
