You can get get an STD from DATY but the risk is minimal. This is what wikipedia says:

Chlamydia, human papillomavirus (HPV), gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis (multiple strains), and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) — including HIV — can be transmitted through oral sex.[7] Any kind of direct contact with body fluids of a person infected with HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) poses a risk of infection. Nevertheless, the risk from most of these types of infection is generally considered far lower than that associated with vaginal or anal sex.[citation needed] If the receiving partner has wounds or open sores on their genitals, or if the giving partner has wounds or open sores on or in their mouth, or bleeding gums, this poses an increased risk of STD transmission. Brushing the teeth, flossing, undergoing dental work, or eating crunchy foods such as potato chips relatively soon before or after performing cunnilingus can also increase the risk of transmission, because all of these activities can cause small scratches in the lining of the mouth. Another recent study suggests a correlation between oral sex and throat cancer. It is believed that this is due to the transmission of human papillomavirus or (HPV) because this virus has been implicated in the majority of cervical cancers. The study concludes that people who had one to five oral sex partners in their lifetime had approximately a doubled risk of throat cancer compared with those who never engaged in this activity and those with more than five oral-sex partners had a 250% increased risk.[9]

I guess if you have had a couple of hundred oral-sex partners in your life the increased risk is off the chart! Yikes!

I don't think it works that way. I am not a doctor, but I think HPV raises the chance of cancer, but not to 100%. If you are infected, I don't think you can get "more infected" by doing more DATY. So don't write your last will and testament just yet.

safe or not.....would you really want to do that when you KNOW that there have been hundreds or thousands of other penises that's been through there?

You are paying for her time and company.  She's a person that you just might get along with.  If you treat her well, she'll treat you like a king (and maybe make you cum so hard you think your head is going to fly off).

That said, before I do French or ANY KISSING I do a visual check.  Look for anything bleeding or wierd sores.  Blood, even menstrual blood, increases risk of disease transmission.  If you don't see anything, most likely it's good to go.
