I'm extremely curious about sensual massage and very close to scheduling an appointment. I need to be discreet and even I didn't need to be, I don't want to get arrested. Obviously the whole idea of a naked masseuse and B2B massaging is titilating, it seems that the line between that and what counts as sexual contact is very fine. Thoughts?

It sounds like you want the benefits without any of the risk. We all do. It doesnt work that way. You're in the stock market? You have risk of loss. You drive a car? You have risk of accident/death. You get a fbsm? You have risk of a bust. Wish I can tell you something different but I cant. So in light of that, you want to REDUCE your risk as best you can. Do that by:
1) See only well reviewed women on TER
2) Get a VIP membership here
3) If your really LE phobic, have her do outcall to an upscale hotel, with a large busy lobby
And who doesn't like to be "all about them sometimes"...
Not all FBSM does she go fully nude. I've had one who opened top & allowed touching but left bra on. I've had one who went topless only. I have a couple who go full nude.
It crosses the line when she takes clothes off, any sexual touching... some jurisdictions may choose to focus on store front MPs or FS providers as an expedient use of manpower. But that can never make it legal.
...as those matters are handled on the "Legal Corner" board. If Nuru involves sex for money, I am certain it is not legal in NYC.
but especially on the newbie board.
the moment they walk into a sting..nothing illegal was done. We split hairs all day long with saying escorting is legal, but prostitution is not. If that is so true, why are women busted every day without doing anything sexual?
Dear Ms. Rayne:
The underlying question that you have would be what constitutes intent? Once you have that question answered then the following question would be easy to give a reply to.
Now what constitutes prostitution will vary in different states, and counties or jurisdictions. I know of some places where getting or giving a lap dance in a strip club is considered prostitution, and is prosecuted as such. In most places fbsm would be also considered prostitution. Plus it might be breaking other laws such as giving a massage without a license. (That would be more on her, than you) Most states require masseuses to be licensed, and most fbsm girls are not. (Although some are).
Bottom line is that it is probably illegal and your best bet for not ending up "in the can," is to deal with reputable, reviewed, girls, whether seeking fbsm or full service escorts. You might find more info on the massage parlor discussion board and the legal corner board.
Good Luck.

just personal opinion even if the response was written by a lawyer. Read the preamble on the Legal Corner Board.
However.....
Being a pro MT & FBSM provider for several years, I can for sure say that giving ANY kind of massage without a state issued license is considered illegal. Beyond that, any kind of massage that involves genital contact is illegal as it for the purpose of sexual gratification and considered non-therapeutic (I disagree as do many other cultures) Whether the person giving the massage is clothed, partially clothed or naked is irrelevant. Calling a massage "Tantra" does not make it legal either.
Specific laws vary from state to state and there are some states that are not yet being regulated. Here is a list http://www.amtamassage.org/about/lawstate.html
I would also think that any questions pertaining to legal issues are not well suited to a general board like this.

In fact, in my state the unlicensed massage is a felony whereas prostituion is a misdeameanor!
But then again, it is the provider who takes the rap for the massage thing. The client would be considered a "victem" or the scheming unlicensed massuess!
In a large city like NYC, where I live, LE only typically gets involved if one of the following applies:
1. Lots of inexplicable foot traffic.
2. Complaints from neighbors.
3. Use of drugs.
4. Obvious signs of illegal activity (used condoms lying around).
5. Strange activity (guys waiting around nearby, waiting to get in).
6. Tax evasion when it appears that a big cash business is occurring (that's how the government gets EVERYONE).
Independent therapists are almost no risk here. Static incall places can sometimes get the bust, but usually this is a result of neighbors complaining. I know several static incall places that have been around for YEARS and have never had LE problems.
Avoid the Asian massage parlors...those regularly get busted. If you don't believe that, just set up a Google News alert with the keyword "prostitution" and see how often you read about Asian massage parlors getting raided. And those are just the ones that get reported in the news.
escorting during your massage time. That means ZERO genital contact and the girl cannot be nude. A while back the massage board started cracking down because so many hookers were using the word "massage" in their ads. Now, you're supposed to only put body rub, sensual touch or something of the like, but not the word "massage."
If you are an LMT caught in prostitution, the massage board can actually file suit against you to revoke your license in addition to having the DA prosecute you. This is why so many legit massage girls refuse reviews...it can really get them into serious trouble.
So...if you are an LMT using hooker boards to advertise, I would be very careful. The really legit ones usually post their tax ID number in the ads, to prove they are ONLY advertising for legit massage services and NOTHING else. Still, you are not supposed to use review sites to place those ads...ONLY the massage section of other sites.
