Pardon my ignorence but I have repeatedly heard that there is a big difference between the experience one might recieve in a studio as apposed to an incall.  I have also heared the phrase "You can take the girl out of the studio but you can't take the studio out of the girl".  Could someone enlighten me about the differences?

If so, then there is probably less difference between the two than you see to imply.

I seldom call agencies, though I have while traveling in another city and on those occasions they sent out very nice gals.  I had one rip off experince in DC, but many good experiences in New York and Cleveland, to name two places.

That said, probably the biggest difference is that you may not get the gal you saw listed, though you will get someone.  Agencies are reviewed here so I suggest you do your homework first and be sure that you deal with a reputable agency.

As for the issue of getting the studio out of the gal, many indies have started at agencies where they learned the ropes.  I've met several and saw no issues or problems with the fact that they used to work at an agency.

Studio could mean agency but it could also mean brothel or massage parlor.

Another term is "lengerie parlor".  You pay a basic fee for the room ($20 or so) and then leave the girl a "tip" while she goes to give the room fee to the manager.  When she returns, she counts your "tip" and then provides the service that the "tip" will get you.  These situations lead to up-sell.  "Honey, if you can come up with another C note, you can come on my breasts" or something along those lines.
