Indy not accept Agenct reference

I have used Desirable Companions, an agency in Baltimore, for nearly a year. I have only seen 2 reputable independents. I have become aware of a possible meet and greet. The provider heading the event has asked for 3 reputable indy references. An agency reference is not accepted. Why not?

The agency was the only one who called me to ask me questions about my background.

In truth, no one has to accept anyone else's references.  You are correct...  a lot of screeners both indies & agencies do not do a good job of screening.  On the other hand there is & always will be friction between independent providers & agencies...  perhaps there is bad blood whioch has nothing to do with you.  Your record as a polite gentleman is really what they need.  My suggestion is to politely ask if there is an alternative screening possible...  Do you have a membership in one of the screening sources like P411?

I have no idea about Desirable Companions -- I have never asked them for a references, and I don't know any girls who work for them.  But in my experience, there have only been 2 agencies I have ever asked for a reference that complied, and both of those agencies are now defunct.  The rest either don't reply or say that they don't give references.  In fact, I've had that experience so many times, that I've stopped asking.  

Also, indys see agencies as more risky security-wise - they are a bigger fish for LE to after, ESPECIALLY in Maryland, and so many indys (myself included) do not want to have any record of correspondence with them.  Agencies in MD and DC do not have a particularly good track record....

with giving references.  Seems to me the "market" should start putting more pressure on them to do so, as this will help everyone, IMO.  By market, I mean clients should unite around this principle and say they won't use agencies that don't provide references.  Good idea or bad?  Perhaps it's just not worth the effort though...

Regarding your second point about indies seeing agencies as more risky, I've experienced this first-hand with a provider who wouldn't give me a reference for this exact stated reason (which I thought was odd at the time, because she gave me an "okay" in P411).  So it's interesting to know this was somewhat of a representative opinion, and not just her's.

ladies.I will only accept a reference from one agency and that is in my local city.
Other than that I will not accept an agency reference.
In the past when I used to send reference requests to agencies I would never get a response.
Every lady is different on what she requires.

I'd have to trust the judgment of someone who only has info about you secondhand, and that's not good enough for me.

However this OP was just trying to get screened for a M&G, not a date. :)

Then again, just as every lady has the right to screen however she pleases, every M&G host has the same right. :)

I have given several references to a couple of different agencies....But yet to get one back.
