Hi, Im new to ter.  I have been looking through the site and all the information in here. I would like to start providing, but I am having a difficult time getting started really. I am based in Indiana and it's not the busiest place here. Is there a special way to get bookings?  Should I place an ad somewhere? Should I service another city? Where can I have the most success finding clients? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TER can be an invaluable and free resource for new providers, but in order to know how to harness the powers of this site for your benefit, you must read up on how to do so.
The place to read up on it is call the Self Help Manual (or Newbie Manual on the classic TER site).  Read it and it will reveal how to go about placing ads on here and what to expect when you get reviews, etc.

The second thing I would suggest is to get a web site.  (You must have a site or an ad site in order to be reviewed.)  The MOST important element of that site will be your photos.  (Like it or not, we clients are a visually oriented bunch or horn dogs.)  To that end, find a really good pro photog who has experience photographing women for sexually oriented purposes and check out his or her work and be sure you approve of it.  It is expensive, but very much worth it.

You can actually find free cookie-cutter sites upon which you can place your photos and other personal information.  Be sure that it is well written and contains everything a client would need to know in order to contact you.  (Be sure you list your geographical area.  You'd be surprised at how many site leave this important point out.)

Finally, become a familiar face on the various boards on TER, especially your local board and the General Discusson Board.  Many potential clients select gals to see based on their personalities as displayed on the board.  Be charming, helpful, sympathetic and sexy.

Does this sound like a tall order?  It is.

No one ever said that the job would be easy.

Best wishes and welcome.

you should post your email address.  (I believe that is still consistent with TER rules; I have seen it done before.)

Unless TER has changed it, the fact that there is an envelope icon next to a person's name does not mean they are able to read email at the time you can see the icon (and that is why I have not attempted to send you a PM).  Once you have a review posted and ask TER to link your name to your profile, you will have a provider limited VIP, which does allow you to use TER's PM system.

Things may be "busier" in Indiana than you assume.  Terre Haute has a "colorful" history of providing
relaxation for hard-working Hoosiers.

About getting a website - there are a number of free blog sites that are great for creating your own website.  Wordpress is one of them.  I use it and it's fabulous.  If you can't afford pro pics getting a friend to take some decent digital pics will get you started.  As for how busy your city is - if you are in or near an urban center there is business to be had.  Yes, servicing multiple cities can be an advantage but you will incur costs like travel and hotels along the way.

I don't know how it is in Indiana, but in cities like Chicago, DC, and New York it can be quite busy during certain parts of the year. I would suggest you visiting these cities when you know it will be good. For instance, you can try going to Chicago when you know a big convention will be in town. Check with the city's locale chamber of commerce, convention center, visitor bureau, sites like menintransit.com for information on when & where conventions will hit. Las Vegas is another busy city with lots and lots of conventions and bachelor parties that are sure to keep you busy in the spring, summer, and most parts of the year.

When advertising, be sure to mention that you are visiting (hobbyists love a girl on tour!) and try to advertise several days before your arrival. Having a website like Mr Fisher suggested is also a good idea. You can use it to share your tour schedule so hobbyist know where you'll be, and when.

Starting out in this business is not by any means an easy job, but with some help and guidance like you will find here on the newbie board you will get off to a good start in no time! It show's that you are serious about providing so there is no doubt in my mind that you will succeed. Good luck!

A lot of the Providers I've met come from the west. From what I'm told........Washington DC, Boston Mass, New Jersey, New York and BWI (Baltimore, MD) are all pretty good spots.

You might want to look at cityvibe or eros. Check out who's advertising locally on these sites. And if you want to live on the edge, check out Backpage. Good luck and remember to screen all your new clients.
