My offense was (I think) to post a nice note on a local board about a provider I know who was coming up to visit. Only the provider herself can make such a post, but then a hobbyist can then add to that post.
Other things are spelled out in the instructions to the dissucssion boards e.g. no flaming or ill-mannered behavior.
Still, there are a lot of people who seem to get moderated and never know exactly why.
Hi, well, it looks like I am moderated--have to wait until my posts are reviewed by moderator before they are listed. I don't mind, really, but I just wonder, how does one get moderated if she was unmoderated before? Does that mean I goofed up somehow? Or that I'm posting too much? Oops! I didn't mean to screw up, and I don't want to do it again. Thanks for any feedback!

as pointed out by S Scythe above... some rules may be bent occasionally, like the one stating:
- One username/alias/handle per person per thread
If that one was followed many old timers would be moderated all of the time... kinda lowers your ability to reply to something in one thread.
Anyway, just use common sense - generally if you think about it, don't do it. We all have been moderated at one time or another so don't take it too hard if you are - mistakes happen and the moddy may be having a shitty day, whatever. Usually if you ARE moderatied, an internal message from you with explaination of your intent (if it indeed was not malicious etc.) will set you free.
Everyone starts off moderated, and it requires moderator action to get you off that status. In general, emailing the mod for whatever board you regularly post to will get the job taken care of, unless there's been an issue with inappropriate postings. Mods will generally be willing to discuss any issues with a poster in private email, and if they think that the rules are now understood and unlikely to be violated again, they can restore a poster to unmoderated status.
Knowing you as I do, I feel certain that anything you did was unintentional, and that you'll comply with all the rules in the future. It can be easy to cross some of the boundaries, and there are some boundaries here that aren't perhaps as intuitive as they could be.
I mostly hit the Politics Board. In appx 14 months half of my posts appear almost instantly, half take many hours to be posted, but a few [appx half a dozen] never saw the light of day [and none of them was particulatly inflammatory].
I'm curious as to the ins-and-outs of being moderated.
at least with the politics board and vegas board, there seems to be no reasoning sometimes with moderation and posts being approved or not. Recently, many posts have just dissapeared into thin air. No explanation is ever given after contact with the moderator.
