A provider might not comfortable with it, or she'd just like a heads up to make sure she pays special attention to it. She'll appreciate the courtesy. I'll also say that since most providers are 'kinky mother fuckers' (myself included), we know how awesome it feels.
Also, if you expect to receive it, trim the area. It'll prevent any painful 'oops' moments. ie, hair stuck in a tooth and yanking it out.

Hello all. I have been reading a number of reviews lately that have included the act of rimming, both giving and receiving. this interests me, as I'm a big fan of this particular act. I also read a posted message from a guy who was freaked out about STD's following a date where he did the rimming to the girl.
So I guess my question is, is this a relatively safe thing to do, all things considered? Should I assume that the provider's backdoor is as clean as her front? Is this something I should ask the provider about?
What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

No, it isn't very safe. She can be clean as a whistle and you can still be at risk for infection from intestinal parasites such as E. Coli and other gut bacteria. Also, you are at risk for Hepatitis A and B. Hep C can also be a risk, but since Hep C can be transmitted only by blood to blood contact, the risk is extremely low. Then of course, STD infection is a possibility, but unlikely.

and take a bath or shower first taking pains to scrub the areas in question with good hot soapy water.

It will not make it 100% safe, but it will be safer.
