Why do some providers ask for a Valid ID when you arrivE for protection purposes only?  What does an ID do for Protection?

The advice I got on this was this:  Even if the provider does not ask you to bring ID bring it anyway.  If you walk and talk your way into a police bust if you have your ID you will be given a misdamenor ticket and let go.  If you do not have it you will be booked and taken to the police station for fingerprints and name verification (takes all night usually).  This was confirmed for me by a freind who is LE, but would vary widely across the country I assume.

So I said bring your ID, but that is all.  Leave your wallet and valubles in the car.  If your rolex and credit card dissapears while you were in the shower, what are you going to do go to a cop and report it?

Also figure out a way to leave your keys in the car (if you can, like ford products with the door keypad) or have it valet parked.  Once again if you walk into a bust tell them you took a cab there.  Most jurisdictions only do forfieture on cars if the act took place in the car, but some may want to challange that and see if they can do it since you drove it to perform the illegal act.  Or at the very least impound it.

Plus the less you take the less you can forget.
