Been a while since I posted here...Is there any way to search or sort my inbox? E.

You need to create folders. For example, you can create one for TER support if you want to segregate them for future viewing or even create them for specific providers.

As far as an actual search function within, there is none.

by sender or subject.  The inbox is basically sorted by date, most recent to earliest, but as far as I know there is no way to change that.

Creating folders, yes, you can do that, but you have to look at the individual msgs and move them yourself, you can't just do it automatically, which I believe is what the OP wants to do.
