I realize this question...

has been asked twenty different times, twenty different ways but... what are the odds a well-reviewed (20+ reviews) massage therapist in a relatively small town isn't legit (i.e. cops flipped her, watching the place, possible raid).  My only reason in asking this question is that she had consistent reviews for several years, dried up in the spring, only to reemerge this fall by posting ads on Backpage.

You're more likely to die in a fiery car crash while driving to the massage parlor.  So make sure you wear your seat belt & drive carefully on your way over there.  --z

and see what they might know.

She might have retired and come back, or it could be something more ominious.

I agree to PM her most recent reviewers.  IF there ARE recent reviews & prior reviews, compare them.   I enjoy FBSM and it's a comfortable way to get started in the game.   There are lots of reasons for gaps in reviews, relationships, legal & custody issues...   Without saying anything sexual, you might be able to discreetly ask about the gap in reviews...   LE flipping a provider is typically a quick short thing if at all.  I'd be comfortable meeting her.

A more likely scenario is that she just got out of the business, and has since reemerged.

The economy was much better several years ago, and she might have burnt out, gotten into a relationship, made enough money/retired, etc.

And now that the economy STILL sucks...well, she is probably doing this again.

Better yet...contact her and ask her what happened in the meantime.

Independents can go on summer vacation for as long as they like.

Out of all of the real Cops shows on TV I don't remember anyone of them flipping a therapist, setting up survalence, and arresting someone buying a massage.

Maybe your worry will make it more exciting for you?

Cops only usually use a busted provider the very day and maybe the next to get a ton of johns arrested. It is very rare (unless she actually becomes a cop) that they are going to use her months later and under the same name...word usually gets out.

It is more likely she took off a few months and came back because she needed the money. Not all women here are worried about their rep, and work when they please.

for all of the reassurances.  Apparently she had spent time at the beach...the appointment went off without a hitch.  And, I almost did die in a fiery crash - some moron ran a red light as I was crossing an intersection on the way to the appointment!
