I do not care for the phone only appointments as it can be hard to get free time to book & then get there.
This is kind of an adolescent question...please bear with me.
I'm wondering how far to persist in trying to call a provider who is rarely there and hoping some providers and hobbyists can give me some perspective. I live in an area without many highly-reviewed providers. I hobby only about once a month so I want to make that session count. There is only one local girl active whom I consider a slam-dunk for money = great experience. However, she frequently tours and as far as I can tell works a regular job as well; she's rarely available locally. When I know that she is (through advertisement) her phone message box is typically full (no surprise), although I've gotten lucky a few times and gotten through to her to schedule some (great) sessions.
To those hobbyists who set up short-term appointments over the phone (a la backpage), how many times will you attempt to call (assuming you have the opportunity) before you give up? Figure you have no plan B girl worth calling. Providers, when would receiving too many calls bug the hell out of you? I'm not talking 30 calls, more like 4-5 in a day, over a few days, when I expect she's around, no more. I have a compulsive personality...but I don't want to be an asshole.
If you can plan the date at least two or even three weeks in advance, I think you will be much more likely to land a date with this gal.
In fact, when you do meet, you might want to set up a regular day and time (First Monday of every month at noon, for example)
Now maybe you can not set your schedule that way, and I understand how that can be, but with such a busy gal, it will always be a sometimes thing otherwise.
That is too much calling! Try replying via email to her bp ad. It may take her a bit to get back to you, but I'm sure she would appreciate a good regular client when she is in town. Also, the next time you get an appt ask her what the fastest way to get a hold of her. You might also invite her to contact you when she is available.

Thanks to those who responded. I will definitely give the poor girl a break with calls and moderate the quantity when I happen to call in the future. I'm like someone (or am someone) with Asperger's and I"m lousy with basic social etiquette/common sense, which is actually one of the reasons I entered the hobby. Also, I tried to space my calls quite a bit, and this lasted for only two days. I was assuming that she had set her phone to mute, vibrate, etc., and that I might get lucky and catch her between appointments when she would pick up; otherwise, I wouldn't have been so insistent and harassing to her and a potential client...Mea culpa.
