I feel your pain, I'm just looking at it from the client's point of view. I always cruise BP to see who's available and get irritated at all the fake ads and asian massage parlor ads on there. It definitely takes a little practice to weed through the BS.
That stated, I've had very good success with BP... in spite of popular opinion to the contrary.
I also don't know where else to start my search on a given day. I know the regulars will say here, but the problem is sorting through who's available "today". I'm a guy that likes hobbying on the weekends but don't plan my adventures days in advance.
If on a Saturday or Sunday morning I'm surfing BP and see someone of interest, I'll try to cross reference for reviews on TER, then one way or another take the plunge a few hours later.
So to your question, I'd also like to hear where you guys start your search... and to you, good luck in NJ!
I have a question that I hope you can help with! I just moved to a new area (S. Jersey/Atlantic City area), and I have been a provider on and off for a couple of years. I was with an agency before, now I am independent. I have changed my name, and am not sure how to go about advertising for myself! I have a profile on another site, and put an ad on backpage.com...but I don't like backpage, since it's kinda trashy, and I have gotten all kinds of improper responses!
What other options are there out there? Where do you look for your providers?
I have found that around DC most ad malls are worthless. The ladies that have ads on Eros that are valid, also post their ads on the DC regional board (once each week is allowed). Other areas some of the malls are better (Eros around Seattle seems pretty good). So, it is somewhat geography dependent. Just as some review sites are used more than others in certain areas.
What shopping I used to do, I did right here. Right now I mostly window shop and then eat at the same restaurants I am familiar with.
I suggest your ad (BP or wherever) include links to any review sites where you have a profile (you can't reference them here of course) for easy reference. Try to do some posting on your regional board (see the link for yours) to get your "face" out there. Marketing takes time.
