Newbie to this field of work and wanted to know if anyone with experience working with agencies could answer a question for me....
You know what I mean by 'traveling with an agency' - they send you out of state to a hotel for 3-5 days at a time. It doesn't say anything in my manual about the escort agency getting back 1/2 of the airfare and hotel from the escort... yet this is what they expected from me when I returned...
Could anyone tell me if this is standard practice among agencies?
... but sometimes they aren't. People make honest mistakes. Promise yourself to get the details negotiated in front next time. Then ask yourself it the agency seems otherwise honest and trustworthy. If they are, they may be a good resource to help you get started. Of course, if they aren't, find another way.
There are many reputable agencies on this board.. Look around.. email the owner.. tell them your story and maybe they will give you some good advice.
Chances are.. maybe they will want you for one of their own and you will be treated much better..
Remember,, every business is run differently, no matter what form of business it is. If something doesn't seem right to you.. simply just do not do it.
