Why do providers spell out phone nos. in ads?

Many times, a provider will spell out some (or all) of the numbers of her phone number in her ad.  Is this to make it more difficult to do an internet search for her number, or is there some other reason?

so some girls would do it that way to 'trick' the system.

I'm not sure why they still do it, but I think it may have something to do with inhibiting your efforts to research them / find reviews.

Natasha is correct on the craigslist thing, where ladies did that to trick the system since it didn't allow phone numbers. Some continued the practice over onto backpage and some other sites. I am sure some ladies also do it conciously to make it harder to do google searches of phone numbers (You can't just copy and paste the number into google search. You have to decode and type it in.)

The third reason is that it's just a copycat thing or 'monkey see monkey do.' There are so many new and very young ladies (18-19) doing it that were not even around during the craigslist era, and many have no idea that smart mongers will be searching phone numbers so that doesn't play into their decision at all. They see this is how other girls do their ads, so it is how I should do it. Kind of a 'fitting in with the crowd' thing.

I know women that would not be affiliated with those sites.

I have heard that if you have a Google chat, or yahoo chat, or any chat to make calls, you can click on the phone # and dial from your computer...

I do not like this one bit lol

but thats the MAIN readon
