Question... I know when you first sign up the first client make up the profile for the provider here. But how do I update that information on there.? Can I or can't.? I have couple clients ask about my old rates and I told them it was made when I first seen my first client ..

 
Another question still new to TER what is link url..

If you have reviews and a profile you can up date it. There is a problem report tab at the top of your profile, click on it and report the things that need correcting.
It's also a good idea to have your reviews linked to your username, that way we can easily find your reviews whenever you post. You can also get free limited provider VIP so you can read your own complete reviews.

You now have a TER username (Stephanie89) and a review profile. Send an email to TER at [email protected] from the email address that is on your review profile, and ask them to link your review profile to your username. After they do that, every time you post there will be a direct link to your reviews under your username (like julia's above). This link also gives you free provider VIP. The limited provider VIP gives you access to TER's PM system, and allows you to read your own reviews. If you want full VIP, (allows you to read all reviews and gives you access to more searches) you will have to pay for it.

Once you get the link, you can update your profile by clicking on "report a problem," OR by  using the "contact us" button on the bottom of the page, OR by emailing admin.  

Please read the self help center which you can find a link to near the top of the page by the life preserver. Lots of good info there. If you have more questions come back here. Lots of friendly knowledgeable folks willing to help.

A link url is simply the address to a webpage. To post a link, go to the address bar at the top of the page you want to link, highlight it, copy it and paste it in the link url box. (you have to first delete the http:// that's already in the box). Providers can post links to their website when they post on TER, unless it is the original post in a thread. The link url box on a board post is not just for provider links though. It can be used to post almost any weblink such as a youtube video. I'm going to use mine here to post a direct link to the self help center.

given some great advice.  To reiterate, problem reports are the only way anyone can update a provider's profile.  Use the button on your profile.  The link url is the address of whatever website you want to enter in the box.  And you can give it any name you want to in the next box which doesn't have to be the site's real name.

Problem reports are not the "only"way to update a profile. "Contact us" works just fine too, and is actually TER's preferred method for correcting complex issues. Problem reports are for simple corrections and updates. Email also works. For a provider to use problem reports to update her profile, she should first have her profile linked to her username.

Anyway, no big disagreement here, just a minor technicality.

Always appreciate it when someone has a better answer than mine.  Regardless of how long we're here, we can always learn something.

Great reply! This is what I have learned from contacting TER. Use simple sentences that have as much detail as possible. Remember that you are writing to people who do not use English as their first language. Their command of English is probably better than mine, but nuances, generalizations, and assumptions that they know what you are talking about are bound to lead to problems. The reader of your email should have ALL of the information about your problem in the email you are writing. Don't assume they can easily get the information you leave out of your email. For instance don't say "my account has a problem". Say "my account (name of account) has (define the problem)." Give as much specific information as possible. Be very specific and don't worry about repeating yourself. Don't say "she". Name the person. Make it easy for them. Don't be verbose (use a lot of big words) Write SIMPLY and write clearly so there is absolutely no chance your email can be misunderstood. Explain the problem as if you were explaining it to someone who knows nothing about your issue ... because they don't. Lastly, never hit the send button if you are mad or upset ... sleep on it and edit your email the next day. Anger does not help you communicate your message ... it hinders it.
