At the risk of sounding flip I haven't worried too much about LE since I stopped picking up street walkers many years ago. It doesn't mean I'm not cautious but I stick with ladies that can be verified either through TER reviews, Personal web sites or an advertising history. I can't always guarantee a great experience but my only real concern going in is that I'm safe from LE.
I managed to hobby for the last 20 years that I was married with no hobby phone though I did have a private bank account and made sure that my ex never knew exactly how much money I made. Still, I never spent beyond my means. If you are borrowing on credit cards or skipping the monthly bills to pay for pussy you are heading down a dangerous path. Addiction? People can get addicted to anything and yes, it can cloud your judgement. I had a pretty crappy marriage but I had a kid that needed to be raised and put through college. Quite simply I always put her first and escorts or strippers second. The best way to keep it under control is to never lose sight of what is really important-your loved ones. The pussy will always be there in one form or another when you have the money and the time to enjoy it guilt-free.
Addiction or a bad habit can be in any aspects of life. This is a hobby, and the things you mentioned about it consuming the time is a part of this hobby. If you were a car collector and restore cars, then you have to spend the appropriate time to research, make appointments, checking reviews, and so forth to make a good buy--then spend more time restoring the car. Every hobby requires time.
Lets move on to the addiction or consuming part. Everything you do, hobby or not requires management. If you decide to drink, you have to manage how many beers you take in--and if you do too much of this, then it can become an addiction and problematic. Even in life, you have to manage your sleep and everything in between. A deficient or excessive amount of anything can be good or bad for you.
Now, to answer your questions. "it sucks people in and progressive become a bigger part of their life"--its not a vacuum cleaner; sex releases endorphins (the habby signal in your brain). The hobby is a place to live your fantasies. Once your at home, living your old routine, its nothing fantasy about it. So, it can become problematic. You cannot suppress your real life, with temporary fixings. "Hobby breaks"-- of course, every1 does. This can be cause for many reasons: finance, family, commitment, SO's, the list continues. "Moderate your hobby cause your getting too far in"--the answer is self explanatory. If the person wants to hit rock bottom, then so be it, but the average Joe does moderate his hobbying habit if hes too far in.
Here's my advice: Its nothing new, everything has its pros and cons. You have to learn management techniques, take a step back from the current situation if need be, and evaluate your status (sometimes taking a break helps a person to realize this). Its like a burger, if you eat too much of it, you can development cardiovascular disease, develop multiple health problems including obesity, your behavior and mood changes b/c of your self-caused obesity, and so forth. Sure, it taste good, but you can't have it everyday. Thats why some people are morbidly obese while others are skinny beyond belief.
An insight and opinion: if a person cannot manage his behavior, then it speaks volumes of the persons character, his motivation, his commitment, his responsibilities, his knowledge, his self-esteem, and everything else in and between. Sorry about this lecture, but others may benefit from it.
