How do you get references

My disposable income situation has improved and I am looking to switch to GFE and GFE++ brackets. A lot of these providers ask for references. Is this a chicken and egg thing? What are references and how do I get them? I have visited one independent, moderately higher end provider (but have been slacking off on posting the review). Can she be my reference? Do I have to call her now and tell her, hey we met 2 weeks back, if you recall and can I list you as a reference? Or is there some other verification that goes on? I'd appreciate some guidance on this. Thanks.

giving references.  Some gals allow up to 3 months, in fact.

By all means, do ask her.  Most gals are happy to provide references for good clients.

Congratulations on moving up.

...I tell my gentlemen this, when wrapping up our date, or in my thank you e-mail.

When a lady contcats me, she must do so through e-mail, so I can verify that she is legitimate, and not a wife or girlfriend.  I do not provide juicey details, but I do tell her if I would visit with the gentleman again.  I also let her know when I visited with him last.

All the best in the New Year!

Kelly

Thanks for your response Kelly and a Happy New Year to you too! I like your policy. I guess it's like an off the web reverse-TER for the gentlemen, where the ladies can rate them on everything... that feedback would be interesting to read...

Thanks for your response MrFisher. I just texted her and she said yes. So hopefully, she would do it when she gets a chance. She is listed here on TER and I just finished writing her review, so it should be up in 2-3 days.

I was lucky enough that several of the providers I visited (the two top ones frankly) both use P411.. I joined that service and both gave me an "Okay" on the site.. so now with a new provider.. I ask them from that site and the screening is done.. I am also approved by RS2000 and Date Check.. so any of those services theoretically help with the reference process..

...being "okayed" on P411.  I still must have the completed appointment form from my website.  References are great, but not used as a sole means of verification.

Yes.. I understand.. That's the reason I used the word"theoretically".. somemay want more.. some less.. I was impressed with the screening that P411 did on me.. They called my direct line at work.. required a copy of my drivers liscense and so on..

Thanks Josulli. I'll check out p411. There is no hard in reducing the information uncertainty between us and the ladies. I sure hope that the p411 servers are secure and the information not handed to the authorities under some subpoena.

...they are in Canada so it's highly unlikely LE would bother with subpoenas. Wouldn't do any good any way. Use P411's 800 number from there web site so you can talk to someone. They are good about working with you to get verified.

All that would show is that I was who I am.. There is no evidence there of any wrongdoing. I don't see that as an issue.. info from P411 would prove nothing..

Contact her and hope she remembers you and ask if she would reference you.  All that means is that she has seen you, and considers you safe for others to entertain.  I would suggest 2 things, one, read the self help center if you have not already done so.  Two, join one of more of the verification sites, DateCheck, Preferred411, or Room Service2000.  RS2K seems to be more popular in the midwest than in other parts of the country.  P411 allows their providers to indicate if they are newbie friendly, meaning they do not screen as heavily as some others.  Keep in mind that even with the verification sites, some providers will still want more screening info from you.

If the recent provider you saw is a member here, you could ask her to give you a white list reference on this site.  If she is a member of any of the verification sites, she can also vouch for you on those sites.

Swim

Thanks Swim for the detailed response. I texted Steph and she said that yes. I didn't specifically ask her about white list but I gave her my TER ID. I'll ask Steph again to give me a white list here (she is listed here) and also ask her if she is a member on p411 or something. I'll check out self-help, DateCheck and others you suggested.

Thanks a lot!!

Hey Swim, Can you tell me where I can find the Self Help Center. I did a cursory search of the website I wouldn't find it. Thanks!
