With a family and a job how do you find time to tour? Unless you've perfected cloning yourself.
This week I accepted 5 new clients in the DC area…(*I actually entertained 6 but I am only recalling 5 *LOL*) With those 5 new hobbyists came a request to help them better understand this “hobby”
At the risk of totally boring some of the experienced hobbyists who frequent this board I apologize in advance. My post is a very important message that I wish to share with the gentlemen who are within our community. It could be titled dispelling some of the myths but I just chose to title it:
I am a Provider .... and We are very much alike (*food for thought 4 the Newbies*)
Originally posted in May of 2006, I apologize for the repetitive nature of my post.
I am much like you:
I have a significant other that (-much like yours-) does not know about my involvement in this business
I have children and friends in my life (-as you do-) who would be hurt if they were to learn the truth
I have a profession and a reputation in the business community, outside of his business
(-like you-) that would be damaged if the truth came out
I have an accountant, a financial planner and I pay taxes on all of my income (*just like you*)
I enjoy reading, the theater and the arts (*just like you*)
I am a home owner, a registered voter, I hold a degree and I have known struggles in my life (*just like you*)
I (*like you*) expect individuals to be respectful of my time and the time I am not participating in the business
~Now a few things that we might not share~
I have a working knowledge of the health risks associated with sex (*do you*)
I have a working knowledge of the law and my rights associated with this business (*do you*)
I have information posted on the internet in several places that share my sexual likes & dislikes (*do you*)
When a new friend first meets me they know exactly what to expect in regards to my appearance & behavior in this business (*this isn't true about you*)
I am very conscience not to offend or degrade you (*can you say the same*)
I have a location that I plan to meet you at that will not leave any evidence or tail tale signs that you have been with me (*do you*)
I will have respect for you as an individual and for the unspoken part of your life that doesn't involve me (*can I say the same or you*)
I truly enjoy the time I spend while in this business and look for the best in each person that I spend time with (*do you*)
..........the bottom line is, I have just as much, or more to loose than you do-
Isn't it only fair to expect you to understand that??
Happy Hobbying (*know your providers reputation*)
kisses..... ~Tori
the naive myopia you and other providers deal with on a regular basis in respect to freshmen hobbyists Tori.
Your resurrected post will never lose relevancy.
well balanced insight and sound advice. Without a doubt I completely agree with the intended gist of your message and overwhelmingly support its content. As such I feel somewhat like a complete jerk to even attempt to point out what is likely nitpicking at best. But as a seasoned hobbyist and an honest writer, two of your points caused me a bit of 'Hmmm':
You write: 'When a new friend first meets me they know exactly what to expect in regards to my appearance & behavior in this business (*this isn't true about you*)'
Tori, in your case this will be undoubtedly true. And speaking for myself, I can only hope that I someday have the honor and pleasure of meeting you. But your message was given to new hobbyists. As such I think it is unfortunately a statement that does not carry universal truth when taken by itself. There are providers out there who are deceitful and their web sites have false or old pics and contain exaggerated service claims. I'm quite sure that your statement may imply that review research will augment the gents decsion to visit a provider. But in the absence of such information, new hobbyists must be aware that what they see and what they read about a provider on an ad or on a web site is not always what they get. On the other side of the coin, some providers require references and they followup to get another provider's input. In these cases the new provider does have some inkling as to whom they are meeting. Again Tori, I think I know the point you were making. We, the clients, likely know a heck of a lot more about the lady when we come in the door. But when a guy makes decisions solely on web sites and ads he can and will eventually be burned by deceit.
And you wrote: 'I have just as much, or more to loose than you do-'
Again I catch your drift and I know what you mean. But for me the balance that you attempted to strike in the previous bullets seems to get diminished by this statement. Each party has plenty to gain and plenty to lose.
Just my thoughts Tori. Hope it does not come across as harsh or unduly critical. I remain highly impressed with your willingness to help both clients and providers alike with your sound advice.

Understood, and we relative newbies appreciate feedback from providers.
Tori,
When the seasons change please, please, please come enjoy a season in San Diego.
You are a delightful, classy lady and I would love to make your acquaintance.
All the best to you.

Since this is bound to be resurrected from time to time, I have two minor editing points:
"tail tale" should be "telltale" although in this profession I suppose "tail" isn't entirely incorrect. :-P
"more to loose" should be "more to lose". loose/lose is one of the most common mispellings on the internet.
One wouldn't want to try to impress us with a college degree and then leave freshman mistakes in the text.
Cheers.
I normally pay attention to detail but it has been an incredibly busy 3 weeks *LOL*
I appreciate your attention to detail ....
kisses ~T
Your post is very well written and intended for the betterment of all. If I may make one possible exception to one of your statements--if the lady reads the reviews written by her intended client, she will have some idea of the gentleman she is going to meet. But, if you don't know our handle (and some guys don't like to reveal their handle), then you are back to square one. Just a thought.
I only wish more ladies were willing to post helpful insights rather than just adds on the local board.
