ok, a few questions. I've done some hobbying in Canada where it's more or less legal. The last time was last summer. I'm attempting to contact the provider I saw to see if I can use her as a reference but don't know if that will happen.

I'm interested in a specific provider who has been well reviewed on ********** where she advertises and several here. But her most recent reviews were from Oct 2010. Is there any cause for concern if there are no reviews here over the last year? The fact is I don't know if she will see me without references anyway, she asks for 2 on her website...

If it helps with info I'm mostly in Bakersfield but travel to the Pismo Beach area and Los Angeles. I'm a VIP member here and another canadian board but don't have any local references as of yet. How is a guy to get started??

First check and see which one is most popular in your area.  DateCheck, Preferred411' and RoomService2000are the sites.  You either give up personal info to one of those sites or to several providers until you have some ladies who will ref you.

I would also suggest looking for newbie-friendly providers in your area.n tehey usually require less stringent screening.  The only consolation I can give you is that we all had to start out that way.  You can search for similar posts and answers.

There are plenty of verified sites that you can join. P411 is common used. There you can also view profiles of providers and book with them. P411 will verify your employment, they can verify provider references, but, you don't have none. Feel free to ask if you need other verified sites.

I've thought about trying a verification service but how does that work exactly? You provide personal info and how is it they verify? Do they call your work?

As someone with an SO and a career I wouldn't want anyone to know I might be dating.

Can anyone in my shoes put my mind at ease?

reviews for over a year. True, there can be reasons like she has been seeing regular clients or a sugar daddy, maybe she took some time away from the hobby, etc.  Is her website still up and running? Has she posted on any discussion boards recently?

Go with your gut feeling. I would have a plan B as well.
