Only you can decide. There's tons of posts on std's on this board, and the Erotic Highway board.
If you're worried about dfk, I can only imagine what you must think of daty and dato. Like i said to each his own, do some research then make an educated decision. BTW, dfk is not always a deal breaker for me, just depends on my mood. Good luck.

I am new at this and had a question after reading some reviews of providers on this site.  Some of the people say that they are greeted by the provider with a FK or DFK.  Is anyone who does this worried about catching something from the exchange of fluids?  I thought that this might not be a good idea with herpes and other things that you may go home with.  If anyone can speak from experience on this one I would appreciate it.  It shoulds like it would be really hot and a good way to start things but a little risky.  Thank you!!

you're worried about STDs with KISSING! Look at the bigger picture my friend...Herpes can spread from skin to skin contact(not even fluids) so even WITH a covered liaison you can get herpes. Not to mention you'd have to have a cut in your mouth/tongue/lip for ANYTTHING(std or not) to spread.

I could never walk up to a guy and FK or DFK him. I could hug him and give him a lip kiss but nothing major. After all let's say HI before we lock tongues....

Simple as that.  But you have to follow your gut as I do.  DFK is one of my dealbreakers, as is BBBJ.  I don't get those two things, I don't see them.

It makes a session so much more fun and sensual! You really can't catch anything from a DFK. If she has a cold sore or if you do I wouldn't kiss or even do oral (you can get the herp if she has a cold sore and goes down on you).

A client once had a light cough I thought it was allergies and we DFK, a few days later I ended up with a cold :( That's the worst that I've ever gotten.

General rule of thumb.. Don't go down on a girl or DFK if you have any open sores or fever blisters. I also have learned that brushing your teeth right before causes microabriasions in your mouth and can lead to easily contracting something. I usually brush my teeth 45 minutes before then just rinse with mouthwash a few minutes prior.

Herpes Simplex 1 (cold sores) and Herpes Simplex 2 (genital) are similar but not identical.  Either can be transmitted from genitals to mouth or from mouth to genitals, although it is very rare for HSV2 to be transmitted from the genitals to the mouth.

Three years ago when I first started I caught mono from DFK.  My throat was swollen for 6 weeks and I ended up in the hospital with an IV for fluids because I was so dehydrated from not being able to eat or drink.  Be careful!! I still will kiss, but I'm very cautious..
