Hmmm...didn't know that

I vaguely recall that there's an option switch someplace (My Account?) to choose the viewing DEFAULT to be Tree or Flat. Am I right about that? Wishful thinking? Where is it?

My current default is Flat but I prefer Tree (better sorting by date and threading) so I always have to click twice: the first post, then "Tree".

Thanks.

Mine is always in tree mode. I would prefer flat if the post were presented in the same sequence as tree.
I do use flat for the ladies photo theme threads.

Once you click on the thread, look up, to the right from the subject line. It will say "tree or flat". Every thread has this option. A tree is better because you don't have to read everyone's comment. A flat is just too much for me. Hope this helps, you can't miss it BTW.

He knows that Mc. His problem is that when he clicks to read a post the whole thing comes up in "flat" form. He prefers "tree" form. So he does click on the choices in the upper right. He said that. He wants to make "tree" his default setting.
I don't know about everyone else but whenever I open to read a post it always comes up in "tree" form. Since his opens in one form and mine opens in another I have to think there is a way somewhere to permanently set it.

You may already know this but: Once you get in the mode (tree or flat) you want, use the "Back to Forum" button at the bottom of the thread to return to the main page. If you do that, you will stay in the correct mode for the next post you select.
